You were my best friend and the kindest human being I will ever know. You were so giving to others even in times when your life was very difficult. You met your calling to serve others, especially in their time of pain and grieving. I was blessed to have you in my life and appreciated who you were as an angel on earth. I am relieved that you are no longer in pain but at the same time inspired by how you embraced every day with a positive attitude when most others would have just given up. Because of having you in my life, I became a better person. Thank you for your gift to me and others whose lives you touched so deeply. Be at peace my good friend and thank you for your kindness, forgiveness, and friendship. When we lose someone like you, there is a feeling of void in the universe. The only comfort one can have is that we will all see each other again someday. Because of you, I believe that. Dyke Mort
I have known and loved Dan since the 1980's when I met him through business. We had a deep friendship for so many years and though we lost a lot of that when he moved up to Concord, I did spend the last couple of years texting with him. Dan had a heart of gold and a deep compassion for people. I hated seeing him so ill and was saddened at his passing yet so thankful he is finally out of pain. You will forever remain in my heart Dan. See you on the other side. Much love, Melissa Collins
Dan, you will be truly missed. I remember back to the day I sat in my interview with you. It was a joy to work with you, and a pleasure knowing you. You always knew how to make us laugh, and appreciated us, as much as we appreciated you. You will always have a special place in my heart.
Dan was truly a very special person, and will be missed by many. Dan was one of my biggest supporters when I was promoted to Grounds Superintendent at Greenwood. Will always remember you Dan and the laughs we shared. RIP

It was a great pleasure to know and work with Dan. He provided me a tremendous amount of support making my job a lot easier while serving a wonderful community. Dan was the one I could turn to and he would commit himself fully to ensuring everything was perfect for all the families we touched on a daily basis. Dan was one of the most caring and compassionate people I have ever met, and I am thankful for the years we worked together, but more importantly, I am grateful to be able to say, Dan was a friend of mine and I will miss him greatly.
Dan, from the first day we met you and I hit it off, as though we had already known each other for many years. You always knew what to say to make me laugh, you were such a prankster and that's what I'll miss the most.
You were a great friend and you'll always have a special place in my heart.
Your friend, Dacia
Dan was such a great and loving person. He was a great friend to my Mother, Doris. They had many laughs together. He made her smile. When she was diagnosed with Cancer, he was there for her. And when she passed, like a big brother he helped me make all the arrangements. I will never forget the generous time you spent at our house helping my mother in her last days, making your home-made custard that she loved, and the time you spent going over details and helping me through the toughest time in my life. You truly were a special person. Thank you
Dan was an active Board member of Survivors of Suicide Loss in San Diego for many years and gave unselfishly of his expertise, energy and resources to support those who grieve the loss of a loved one to suicide. You have left a great legacy of service to others, Dan. You will live on in our hearts!
