Marilyn told us yesterday that David passed away in March. So sorry for you and your family's loss. Where did life go? Will always remember my teen years visiting my Alabama relatives. Peg Wrigley (firstname.lastname@example.org).
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I pray for all of your family as I know David will be missed by all who knew and loved him. May God bless and sustain you with His comfort, love, and presence during this time.
David was our neighbor. We were privileged to meet David on a sunny afternoon when he stopped by while on a bike ride a few years ago as we were working in our yard. He spoke of his cancer as well as his passionate fight against it. Our community's heart is heavy with sadness because we have lost a great man, neighbor, and friend. We will do our best to honor David by adopting his inspirational enthusiam for living life to the fullest and extending smiles and kindness to others.
Loving thoughts and prayers are with David's family.
God speed comfort and peace - Kevin and Angel Phelps
My deepest condolences to the Blackwell family and friends. David's integrity is legendary at TVA. I still have suppliers tell me stories about how David would always contribute money when food was provided because he wanted to keep an even playing field for everyone.
Thank you for fighting the good fight David. You will be missed Marine. God rest you and prayers to your family.
I am very sorry to learn of David's death. I enjoyed knowing him, especially our times together at TVA.
My prayers for the Blackwells will continue in this time of heart break. What a good person David was, and always a man honor. Atta Boy David, thanks for being one of our heros. Wish I could share his memory with you but my own battle prevents that. Peace be with you and your family Mary. Gene Lyle class of 66
I retired from TVA in 1999. I attended Sheffield high and graduated in 1963. David gave a speech at my retirement party and proclaimed that I was one of the greatest athletes to ever attend SHS. I have never been so flattered in my life. He was such a great guy. I believe he could have easily been Governor of Tennessee had he chosen to run. I will never forget all the Blackwell brothers, especially David. (Nick Wright, football captain 1963, Colbert County Sports Hall of Fame ,class of yr. 2006)
I knew David and his family from St. John United Methodist Church and working at TVA. He was a great person and will be missed by all who knew him. I send condolences to David's family and my wishes for peace and comfort during this time of grief.
My thoughts and prayers are with each of you in this time of grief. May memories of David, and God's love, be your comfort.
I remember me and David squaring off in one on one drills in football practice at Sheffield. I was a senior and he was a sophomore. I was a
good friend with David. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
I meet David about 12 years ago while biking. We became instant friends and shared many great times together, many on a bike seat. David, you are one of my dearest friends and you will be truly, truly missed. You have fought a great battle the last few years with so much strength and dignity, you deserve a rest now. Mary, Alan, and Sara my prayers are with you.
I had the honor of working with David for a brief period and that turned into a friendship that lasted over the years at TVA. The family will be in my prayers. Take comfort in knowing he is no longer in pain and is with the Lord. God Bless.
My deepest sympathy to Mary and all of David's family. I had the pleasure of knowing David for over sixty years from our high school days, through our careers at TVA and then our retirement years. David was one of the finest gentlemen that I have ever known. His tenacity and unique sense of humor helped many of us make it through the challenging times at TVA. My heart and prayers are with you.
We are so sorry to hear of David's passing but know he is whole again and in the arms of our Lord and that he is in heavenly peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Our sincere thoughts and prayers are with Mary and all the Blackwell family duriing this difficult time. Charlie and Alda Jordan
Terry and I have the privilege of knowing David (and Mary) since our days of high school in Sheffield, AL. David lived his life as a man of integrity. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. During his last years in the battle for his life, David never gave up. He held his head high in testimony to his strength of character and the light in his heart and soul. A life way too short, but well lived!
I had the privilege of working with David for 10 years at TVA. He was a dedicated employee of the highest integrity. Working with and for him was an honor.
