I just loved that show when I was a kid. David and Ricky had the kid life that I was wishing I had wind I was looking at the Ozzie show. I really loved that show. But I did not know it was on the radio. I listen to the radio a lot. Country musie a lot. Thank you David for you and your family for the wonderful shows, I am now 73 old and still having old meamery times. GOD BLESS and HIS LOVE

None of our lives are perfect, but I hope David knew how sweet it was for us to watch his family on TV for so many years. God Bless all of them and their souls. Just a friend

Though The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet was merely an entertaining TV show and not a real life portrayal the American family, it was a nice way for children to deal with the rigors of the growing up. American fathers, mothers and children had a chance to laugh at themselves, a healthy form of escape we all need from time to time. Even today when a wedding guest toasts a newly wed couple, s/he may intone, "May you be as happy as Ozzie and Harriet!"

We're so sorry about the death of David Nelson. May you, his family, continue to recover, grieve as needed and relish your memories! To his children and grandchildren - hold close to your heart everything you know, love and feel about David. I'm one who writes the memories so I can go back and remember things that slip from my mind. We don't really feel like the outsiders we are because the Nelson family shows always made us feel like family = as if they made us a part of theirs. May each day ahead be a little easier for each of you!
Our sympathy and prayers!

Tuesday, February 15, 2011
My condolences to the entire Nelson family. I was a fan of the Ozzie & Harriett Show and felt very bad that the last surviving member is now gone. Maybe Ozzie can recreate a show in Heaven.
Tuesday, February 01, 2011
We watched the Ozzie and Harriet show as a family and enjoyed every minute of it. It was a time when families were together and at a much slower pace than today. We can't go back. You will be missed God bless you all. My sympathy and prayers go out to all your family and friends during this time.
Saturday, January 29, 2011
I grew up watching the Nelson family. That was a time when life seemed filled with less problems or at least they were different. Families did more together and respected each other. I look forward to the day when all families will be truly united. At John 5: 28,29 Jesus promised that we will be united with our dead loved.
My deepest sympathy to the family .
Monday, January 24, 2011
I grew up watching "Ozzie and Harriet", I cried when Ricky died in that plane crash, he was one of my favorite music artists, and now just a few short years after losing mama "Harriet" we lose David, the last of the family who brought television comedy of the 50's and 60's to great height. Reruns will never be the same without him sitting there and saying "I remember doing that scene".
Monday, January 24, 2011
The Nelsons were my all-time favorite TV family growing up. I watched the reruns in syndication every day after school. Ozzie reminded me of my grandfather. With David's, death, they are all gone now. It's like losing a piece of my childhood. May God comfort you in your loss.
Thursday, January 20, 2011
I liked All the Nelsons. I'll never forget the episode where Ricky is dating several girls at the same time on campus. At the end of the episode, David looks at the fourth wall (the tv camera and says, "How does he (referring to Ricky) ever find time to practice the guitar, I had a dream that if I ever got to California again, I was going to look up David, and talk about the old show. Well, the Nelons are finally back together again.
Wednesday, January 19, 2011
The best family show of all time. Sympathy to the family.
Tuesday, January 18, 2011
I love Ozzie & Harriet, still watch them on DVD. David was always my favorite. They were a wonderful family to watch and look up to,we could use shows like that today. God Bless David's family, he was loved by many.
Monday, January 17, 2011
Oh, my gosh. This is the end of an era. The era I grew up in. I loved the Ozzie & Harriet Show. I sort of fancied myself as part of their family; the spoiled kid sister. Now, they're all gone, and I will miss them, even though they've been out of the spotlight for a while. Rest your head on God's shoulder, David. He's been waiting for you. Now you will be with the rest of your family.
To Mrs. Nelson----- May the Lord God keep you and comfort you and your children and grandchildren in this time of great sorrow.

We grew up watching you on TV. Those were the good ole days. May God bless and be with you all.
Monday, January 17, 2011
Wow, The Nelson Family brings back great childhood memories. We could identify with David and Rick since they were close to our age and going through the same daily problems of teenagers. Even when I see it shown on television today, I sit down and watch and all those good memories come back to me. Girls dreamed of marrying someone just like the Nelson boys. Their "Good American Boy" characters will live on in our memories.

My deepest condolences to the Nelson family. The recollection of pure innocence from my childhood is now forever gone. May David rest in peace with the rest of his nuclear family as they are united together. May he walk along the path with the angels. My own 2 brothers mirrored the images of both David and Ricky, as they were the same ages and grew up in the same generation and were also born in New York. Thank you for giving us so many years of getting to really know you on the show that we all enjoyed watching.

My prayers and thoughts go out to the rest of David's family and may god give you the strength and perseverance to carry forward. Keep all your treasured memories stored up forever in your hearts.

Thank you for making all of us a part of your lives. It was a most wonderful ride all the way.

With Sincere Condolences,

I remember the episode where David got married. In short, Harriet tried to help them and thought she messed it up. So, Ozzie and she sneak back over to their apartment with their key to try to fix it but too late. They peak in the door to see David and his bride happily eating peas by candlelight for their supper.
Loved their show and miss that time in our country.
My condolences to his wife and all of his family for your loss. Together they are now and forever in our hearts they will always be.

As a young girl I listened to the Nelson's on the radio. I was so excited to see them on TV. I wanted to live in the Nelson Household. I was in love with Ricky. When I turned 14, his pictures were all over my bedroom walls. If I had been older it would of been David. They were both so handsome and wholesome. My Mom and Dad loved Harriet and Ozzie. They remembered them when they were young. If only we could have good shows like that on TV now for the young folks. I hope the Nelsons are all together in heaven. My prayers go out to the Nelson family. May their precious memories keep David alive in their hearts forever.
Saturday, January 15, 2011
The acting world has lost a great actor. I know his family has a life of memories. May he rest in peace.
Saturday, January 15, 2011
Our deepest condolences to the Nelson Family for the passing of your love one.
You have endless memories of your father, grandfather, uncle, cousin & friend to keep forever.

It is a great loss to hear the passing of a great man of principles and values in the meaning of “Family”. I personally grew up watching all the episodes of “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet”… when it was only three (3) channels to work with and not 250 plus channels…

I pray for life today, to revert to the simplicity of family principles and values to our generation today…. It is so much needed in our world today….Our children today need to find their inner souls of what simple life was in the 50’s.

The Nelson family displays a great wholesome of Love, Laughter and Loyalty...

May the family find peace and continue the legacy of their tradition of “Good Old wholesome living”….

Thank you for the memories

I'm so sorry for your lost. So many people are effected by the death dealing blow of cancer. I lost my sister to it. It's just another reminder of the times in which we live. Jesus foretold that there will be pestilences (diseases) on a grander scale during the last days. But he also foretold that it is possible for us to be saved if we endure to the end. May your family take comfort in knowing that though the end of this world is soon to come, there is a peaceful new world waiting for all those who take in knowledge of God and of his son, Jesus Christ.

I can't remember if I was more in love with Ricky or David when I used to watch the Ozzie an Harriet show. So sorry for your loss..
Friday, January 14, 2011
I was very sad to read of David's early death...74 is too young to have to leave one's family. Although, I have no doubt he is with his brother and parents as they wait for their loved ones to join them, he will be missed here. I have beautiful memories of many wonderful TV shows from that period...The Nelson family's shows and all the well written and magnificently performed shows of that period (dramas with Ida Lupino, Dick Powell, David Niven, etc.). Today, I scroll through a hundred channels or more and find nothing I want to watch. The programs they refer as "reality" are an insult to a person's intelligence. There is no such thing as "reality" with cameras all around focused on people who know, if they do not behave outrageously, they will not be on the boob tube for long. Many of us refuse to watch the garbage. I was excited by the prospects of Oprah's new "OWN" channel, but, so far, have been disappointed. I thought she might bring back well acted drama's/mysteries. David and his entire family created many wonderful hours of pleasurable entertainment for me and many others all over the world. I pray his family will be given the strength to endure his loss until they are reunited. Rick was cute, but my favorite was David!! Smiles

I was shock to hear about his death. I can remember as child to watch the show and we had neighbors and friends come to the house and watch the greatest show "Ozzie & Harriet Show" and "The Nelson's". It was show that we all understand and being part of the family. It was a excellent family show. I am going to miss him but he is no longer suffering and pain free now. I hope that they will have the shows on television for old people to enjoy and new younger people to see what a family is like then. My prayers go out to the family and friends at this differicults time. He is now and join rest of his family in heaven. I can hear them singing together to a happy reunion. May God Bless you all.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Nelson family once again losing another great family member. We don't have the good sitcoms anymore like we did back in the 60's when I enjoyed watching "The Nelson's" I sure hope that soon a cable channel will pick up their show once again because it will be neat to see this family young again. Since Dave is painfree, he has rejoined with his family to hear his brother Rick sing once again and this close-knit family will be forever together again. RIP Dave.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

The Nelsons set the tone for all families in America. Their gentle, lighthearted humor always reminded that we could have fun with one another without being unkind. That lesson is sorely lacking in today's America.

SO SILENT WAS YOUR LEAVING
by Robert M. H. Zirbel

So silent was your leaving,
Not a sound to say goodbye,
Just a silence that you left behind
And that silence seemed to say
“Please, please…
Do not grieve…
For I just had to go.”

So silent was your leaving,
Uttering not a painful cry
Nor even a fearful moan.
And that silence seemed to say
“Please, please…
Do not grieve…
For I just had to go.”

That silence is still not shattered
Even though my tears pour down
To join with all the unsaid words…
Those special, special words…
That I had always meant to say.

If I had cried out “Please, please don’t go.”
Would you have stayed?
No, I think not
For you had been called…
And you knew you had to go.
Yes, you knew you had to go.
Wednesday, January 12, 2011
Rest in Peace David. Thanks for all the good times I enjoyed in watching and growing up with the Nelson's TV Show. My sympathy to his family.

to the Nelson Family, I had been a fan of Rick's since childhood, and about six months before his death he did a concert in San Diego and I had this album Rick sing's Nelson, which he and and his guirest signed, about a year later I contacted David's office in Los Angeles I figured
it was worth a shot to get a COA, of course I thought it would not happen, within a few days his seceratary called and said he would take a few minutes to see me. I was on clound nine, very nervous of course but he made feel as though we were frinds. He verifed the COA and went one step further and called his notary to verify everything and make it right. Like he said on that day I may not be around forever. God bless you David the album and notary statement are still with me. May I also say in closing that the day of Rick's
Service his daughter s
said thar her dad's favorite food was peanut butter. Why can't we have wholesome family's like that to day.

God bless, Patrick Kelly

Those of us who grew up with the Nelson family will never forget them. The family is now reunited in Heaven. The "Adventures of Ossie and Harriet" was a beautiful show that ran for 15 years. It stressed "family values" and featured a loving family. David Nelson was a fine actor and a good man. God bless him as he rejoins his brother Ricky and mother and father.
Wednesday, January 12, 2011
Together again are all the wonderful Nelsons. Those were the days of great TV shows.God bless David and all his family.
Wednesday, January 12, 2011
I remember listening to the radio and the Nelsons. My favorite show both on the radio and TV. They just don't make them like that anymore and the kids nowadays haven't got a clue to the fun we use to have listening and watching the Nelson family grow up on TV. At least I'll always have my memories. I liked the brotherly banter between David and Ricky when they were both still little kids and as they got older. Best family show ever.

I was a Ricky Nelson fan from the first time I heard his voice on the radio. Elvis never did for me what Rick did.

My heart and my prayers go out to the rest of the family and know that the Nelson family was loved by those of us who remember.
Wednesday, January 12, 2011
MY FAMILY WATCHED AND ENJOYED THE OZZIE & HARRIETTE SHOW UNTIL ITS END. WE WANTED TO BE LIKE THEIR FAMILY, ALWAYS HAPPY AT THE END OF AN HOUR. GOD BLESS THE REMAINING NELSON FAMILY, DAVID WILL ALWAYS LIVE ON IN THE HEARTS

Dear Sam, I am so very sorry to learn of your Uncle David's passing. Once you have time to "think" again during this profoundly sad and difficult time, my shrink, who is a specialist in loss, says that you have to picture your loved one during a moment of happiness and put that as the picture in your mind. It takes some practice, but when you get the hang of it, it can turn tears to a smile. I recently lost my dad and after the shock factor, I feel like he is more with me all the time now; his great energy. Your Uncle had a great energy which you share. I hope you will find that knowledge comforting. Take good care, Sam. A whole world sends you and your family good thoughts and prayers. Good thoughts, Anita Spencer
Wednesday, January 12, 2011
My prayers and condolences to David's family. I had always like David, both on radio and TV. His casual approach to life within the 'aired' Nelson family and his laughter, was something that I always.
Ricky may have had the lines, but David, had the wisdom of a young man.

My deepest sympathy to the Nelson Family. The loss of the Nelson Family is significant to me of another time in America when there were individual responsibilities both to oneself and others in their lives. A time when parents were respected. A time when drugs never even entered an adolescent mind. The loss of this show is deeply felt in our present American Society. Would be inspiring if Americans can see how it could be even with today's standards.
Wednesday, January 12, 2011
Growing up watching "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" gave me the sense that individuals in a family could be different and yet each loved for their particular gifts and abilities. Thank you, David; you've been a wonderful Light to our planet for all these years. Godspeed.
Wednesday, January 12, 2011

TO THE FAMILY OF DAVID NELSON,
HE WAS ONE OF MY FAVORIT ACTORS. MAY HE REST IN PEACE WITH HIS PARENT AND RICKY. GOD BLESS YOU IN THIS DIFFICULT TIME.
Wednesday, January 12, 2011
Will anyone remember the peace of growing up in a family where a Mother would be at home to welcome you after school. We would have family sit down dinners every night and get kissed good night by Mama. I think as we say goodbye to people like David Nelson and many more of our generation, our time, the 1950's and the peace of that time will be lost forever.
Wednesday, January 12, 2011
My thoughts and prayers are with the family. We loved to watch the family show as children. He will be sadly missed.

Ozzie and Harriet was my favorite show when I was growing up, and I still watch the series on DVD. Ozzie was a true genius way before his time. I was saddened to hear of David's death. I did see Ricky in person when he appeared at the Spartanburg Interstate Fair back in the late 1970's. David will be missed. The Ozzie and Harriet show was "one of a kind". I have so many fond memories, and the GREATNESS of this show will never be duplicated. Rest in peace David.

Wednesday, January 12, 2011
To the family,

Please know that whatever you all may remember or love about your David - so many of us who didn't know him as well or will ever miss him as much were made better because of his gifts, talents, and sacrifices to live, in part, before all America.

It seems many grieve the loss of David as he points us to the grief we feel when we remember the simplicity and peace many of us remember as children in a country with more regular family time every day. Though I'm sure that was painful for some, for me it was not. I was fortunate to have a wonderful loving family that had its quirks, but truly loved one another. We enjoyed the show as a family together, oohed and ahhed at the "cute guys" and looked forward to seeing the show again and again.

Skipping all the nostalgia - you have a deep loss - because you've had a deep love for a wonderful man for a long time it seems.

For those of us just looking in - I hope your memories will grow and fill your life with lessons and joys to remember and pass on to the next generation. May the youngest who reads this or hears it know that they are special and have the ability to change the world, just by being another person who loves others.

May there be rest in your hearts and souls as you take your own grief to "lover of our souls." Praying the Psalms helped me give away my deep emotional pain to someone who heard and helped me move on to a future and hope. Jeremiah 29:11-12

I thoroughly enjoyed watching The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet as I grew up in the 50's and 60's. David was very talented and sincere in all the episodes. This is the ending of one of the last true family shows. I wish one of the networks could rerun some of the shows.
Wednesday, January 12, 2011
Thanks, Dave. You were always the 'calm and sensible' one, in the series, as well as in real life. May you now rest in the arms of God, and may His Grace give your family comfort and peace in their time of grief.

I just wanted to extend both my sympathy and thank you, to family and friends. The sympathy, for your loss. And the thank you for sharing him with all of us who grew up watching him grow up with us on tv, and appreciating his talents as an adult. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord - so He tells us, in the Bible. What a wonderful reunion it must be, as the Lord, and the family he loved so much, welcome him Home. My name doesn't matter - because I'm only one of so many, with the same thoughts for you. May the love and strength of God, and all your family and friends, help sustain you today, and for the days to come. God bless.

He was always my favorite "older" man when I was in high school. Although he was only four years older than me, he was the boy next door and, also, the "older" man to look up to. Shows just aren't the same anymore like the Nelsons. They were corny but they always ended up putting a smile on your face. My prayers are with his family. RIP Dave!

Wednesday, January 12, 2011

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.

When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

This was one of my favorite shows growing up. I loved the whole family. Such a wholesome uplifting series that left everyone in my family smiling when each show ended. We couldn't wait for the next show. I would like to share an encouraging promise for the family and loved ones. "Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not gaze about, for I am your God. I will fortify you. I will really help you. I will really keep fast hold of you with my right hand of righteousness." Isaiah 41:10 San Diego,CA.
