My father, Van Burd of Cortland, and I, Joyce Hicks of Indiana, would like to say how much we enjoyed knowing Don. Mr. Burd and Don served on Okinawa at the same time, though they didn't know each other. They had many talks about their service in the US Navy. Don helped my father with many investment choices and we appreciated his "kitchen table" approach. My father sends his thoughts to the family, as I do; I talked with Don many times.
Don and Family,
We pray that God will give you strength and courage in your time of bereavement.
We made a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project in honor of your father.

Linda and Donnie,
I just saw the news..... Rob and I have so many memories that we can't even begin to list them here. I will miss your Dad so much, as he continued to send the occasional e-mail and birthday wish after all these years. Please know that our prayers and thoughts are with you all. xoxo Pam and Rob

Very sorry to learn of the death of your father.
He was a real gentleman through and through.
He will be greatly missed by his friends, clients and, of course, his family.
My thoughts and prayers go out to you both.
