Don took me under his wing. With his words, friendship, and time he taught me to be a part of something, instead of a rebellious small-minded redneck independent. He taught me the Navy's dress code standards which ultimately cost him a day off, because I out-did him. He showed and reinforced the importance and benefits of true love respect, and trust. At one time the trust and respect between us was so great that he bought a car on my word sight-unseen. He was my most valued friend. I have mourned his passing for several weeks now thinking of him almost constantly. The world has lost a remarkable man. I'm blessed to have had my times with him. I am the man I am today in many aspects due to the knowledge Don shared with me when I was under his wing. I will never have a better friend and my heart goes out to Amy, Donnie, and Melanie. I love you Don, and will miss all of my days. Andy.

With the deepest feelings of sadness and regret over the loss of someone that I knew and called friend. May the Lord watch over him on his new journey into the unknown and may he watch over the family in their moment of need.
