Earl was the finest man I have ever known, and I am a better person for having known him. I feel immensely lucky to have had that chance. I will never forget his kindness, his patience, or his general awesomeness, and will always remember the times we spent at Braves games with special fondness.
I worked with Earl at Georgia Tech and he was such a very nice man, always had a smile. He will be missed.
Before Julie & I moved to Arkansas in 2008, I spoke with Earl, never the least bit aware that this conversation might be our last. He was the consummate gentleman and a fine softball teammate for several seasons and the world is a far poorer place for his passing. One of the best opposite field hitters Ive ever seen and a fine teammate. When its my time and I cross over and fine another team to play on beyond, Im sure Ill see Earl again with his friendly smile , holding that lineup card.
I just learned of Earl's death. I went to school with Earl from Monte Sano thru Richmond. He was a friend and will be missed by all that ever knew him.
I am very sorry to hear of earls passing we went to Richmond together and I used to drop him off after school at the shop on Ellis st he will be missed

I happened to see this while looking on line for someone else. It caught my eye, because his Father was always our "go-to" plumber when I was growing up in N.A. and our parents (Mr. and Mrs. Knox) thought very highly of him and his family. It appears that his son followed his example, and I am very sorry to hear of the death of this young man.
Geneva (Knox) Larson
Earl was a great friend to have back during our Tubman and ARC years. Very sorry to see that we ended up at Tech at the same time and did not know it. My prayers are with the family.
Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.
Earl was the epitome of a fine man. He was one of the nicest, kindest, gentlest, friendliest, and most tolerant men I have ever known. From the first moment I met him, he treated me as a valued and cherished friend; I was never treated like a stranger. I never felt uncomfortable, negatively judged, or unhappy around him in any way, as I have felt around almost all of the other men I've ever met. I am honored to be among those who knew Earl, and it is my continued pleasure and privilege to call him my dear friend. I will always treasure his friendship. I share in everyone's grief for the loss of such a good man, and hope we can all find comfort in our memories of him.
George Ann and Earl - Both Janice and I were saddened on hearing of the loss of your son. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you at this sad time.
I just wanted to let you know that I received the MASSL email notice, but due to prior commitments I will be unable to attend the memorial service. But I did want you to know that I truly admired and respected Earl as a softball player, and even more so as a person. He was simply a real good guy, and he will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His courage will serve as inspiration, and I can only hope some of his good nature rubbed off on me.
Lisa, Warren and family. We are so sorry for the loss of Earl. We know he meant so much to each and every one of you. Just try to hold on to the knowledge that he is in the arms of God and no longer suffering. We know from our recent loss that this does not replace the hurt but helps to lighten the heart. Our love and prayers to you and yours.

Dear Warren, Lisa and the girls. We are so very sorry for your loss. We know what Earl meant to each and every one of you.
