"Baby Sis" was always a sweet and special part of my life growing up. Her mother and my grandmother F.D. Haynes were first cousins and I was always proud to count her as one of my "kin". She left a wonderful legacy and example for young people to follow.

Mrs. Bigham was my first grade teacher and I adored her. She had such a love for children and some 50 plus years later I still have the fondest memories of my first grade year. I was also privileged to see her every Sunday morning at First Baptist, greeting people. She was a fine Christian Lady. I will miss her and am so glad I have such wonderful memories of her. John she loved you and I know you will miss her. Cherish your memories.

Crossing the Bar

Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,

But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.

Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;

For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crost the bar.
