Sally: As a friend and a neighbor I will miss Erasmo's cultivated presence and contributions to our neighborhood and community. With the kindest of regards. Sam Moore
Dear Andrade Family,
Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of your beloved. There are never any right words to express how deeply sad I am for the pain your family is enduring at this difficult time.
As Chair of the Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs and Military Installations, I am sincerely thankful for his valiant service in defense of our rights and freedom.
His commitment to family, friends, our community, and to serving our great nation leaves a wonderful legacy. May the love and the wonderful memories you shared with him help you when you need it most. He will never be forgotten, and your family will be remembered in my prayers.
Sally & family,
Erasmo was such a dedicated person. I remember him well from the Sixties/Seventies. He was involved in every worthwhile cause in San Antonio at the time. I'm only sorry that our paths didn't intersect after that time. Reading the extent of his work in other cities just enhanced my admiration for him! A very good man indeed!
Dear Dr. Sally Andrade y familia: Although I met your husband and father only once, I was always impressed by his exemplary commitment and service to the community. His passing is a great loss to many. Please accept my deepest condolences.

Sally and the family:
Only God can give you the strength through this passage of life.
My "Tio Lamo", as he was known in his family, was an inspiration to all of us. He was the patriarch of our family and the one we came to first whenever we needed advice or support. Compassionate, and with great moral strength, he demonstrated dignity and courage during his final illness. He actually apologized to me when I helped him up after he fell during my last visit to see him. His friends and family will miss him dearly. Rest in peace, Lamo. Your battles here on Earth are over.
Francisco Cervantes, M.D.
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USN during the Korean War. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

My deepest condolences go to Sally and all of Erasmo's familial. My dad, Pedro Aguilar Nieto, was Erasmo's uncle and so I had a fair bit of contact with Erasmo. I will always remember him as a fine, upstanding, dedicated social justice advocate as well as a very kind and generous family member. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his relatives.

I knew and worked with Erasmo Andrade for social justice only two years--1967-68--in San Antonio, but in that short time, I knew he was a giant among us and would listen closely to him like he was an older brother and mentor. He will always be to me, in the vernacular of our time, a "stand-up guy," meaning of course someone of the highest character and with compassion for others. With his passing, I share everyone's sorrow.
Tom Cahill (Fort Bragg, CA)
You have my deepest sympathy during this time of your loss of a wonderful man; I can only hope that your faith in God will give the family the strength to get through this very difficult time and give you the acceptance of God's will. I sincerely appreciated Erasmo being at my husband's viewing back in December of 2005. His presence meant a lot to me and Frank Franks Jr.'s family and the flowers were beautiful.
God Bless You All
I was fortunate to have met Erasmo and worked alongside him for the Democratic party. He shared with me his stories about the Tarahumara's trips and the work that was accomplished during the trips, he had the talent to inspire people.
It was an honor to have met him.

Familia Andrade: It is with shock and sadness that we have all lost such a wonderful, caring human being whom was always the voice of reason. When we met in Crystal, he was older than most of us, but he never waivered in making sure that he was heard and that we listened. I thank God we were able to connect again in El Paso as my daugher Avina Cristal attended UTEP. We had a wonderful dinner a year ago that was very memorable to both my daughter and I. We thank you for sharing his life with us. RIP Eramso Andrade...PRESENTE Viva La Raza Unida!
My deepest condolences to you and your Family on the loss of your Father.

With Deepest Sympathy to the Andrade family, may you find comfort in God's words and in the knowledge that others sympathize in your loss.
I just read in the San Antonio newspaper that Erasmo passed. He and I worked together in San Antonio during the 1960s to organize several movements on behalf of workers. The Texas Farmworkers Support Committees, the $ 1.25 minimun wage effort, Federation for the Advancement of the Mexican American (FAMA), etc. etc. long story. We always shared the believe, even during those difficult years of organizing, that Otro Mundo Es Possible.
Finding out he's no longer with us pains me. Deeply.

Deeply sorry for the loss of Erasmo. We traveled with him to Turkey just six months ago and enjoyed his company for the brief time we were touring.
I am very saddened to read of Erasmo's passing. He was both very decent and very effective. We first crossed paths in the mid 1960's. Then in the 70's my daughter was in pre-school with his and Sally's 2 children in Austin. In the 80's and probably early 90's , I would run into him in Austin where he was always involved with important work. After he moved to El Paso , I never saw him again I don't think, but he obviously was productive there as well . My condolences to Sally and the rest of his family. Que vayas con Dios , Erasmo .
I had the honor and pleasure of serving my last year on the Project Bravo board of directors with Erasmo. His concern for those we served was genuine and his attitude was always enthusiastic and progressive. I was very saddened to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers for the loved ones he leaves behind to relish his memory and continue his legacy. I have no doubt that the Lord received him with arms wide open.
Erasmo was a mentor to me back in the late 60's and 70's. He was a gentleman and a scholar. My parents admired him so much as well. My condolences to you and your family on the loss of husband and father. The world is a better place due to his dedication and love for humanity. My condolences for your loss. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. He will be missed.

Sally, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this trying time.
To Sally and family.....our hearts and prayers go out to you in this time of loss.
To Sally and Family, I send my heartfelt condolences to you, family and friends. Having just read the obit, I see that Erasmo's life was a "book" of well doing. He blessed many with gallant service during his tremendously beneficial life.
Erasmo was determined to make the world a better place -- and I think he succeeded -- although I'm sure he would have disagreed, saying that there was still much too much more to do. Descansa en paz, Don Erasmo.
It was an honor to know you and I give thanks for your example of service to and advocacy for the poorest of the poor. You and the Lord will have much to share!

Sally you are in prayers as you mourn the death of your partner, your husband Erasmo. I am thankful that I got to met him and I had a chance to learn from him!!! He will be greatly missed by the community and may his spirit of justice leave within our hearts!!!
Erasmo was a wonderful man. He inspired many with his love for truth and social justice. He will be remembered as a loving family man, with a strong commitment to his community. He was, above all, a teacher and he will not be forgotten. Hasta luego Erasmo. Descansa en paz.
Erasmo, You will be missed.
One of the joys on this earth was sitting with Erasmo and hearing speak about why the fight for equality and civil rights is never over. His heart was filled with joy. Rest in peace my friend, you will be organizing in heaven.
Erasmo is now organizing for God in heaven just as he did here on earth. It was an honor to know him. My prayers and condolences to Sally and his family.
