Dear Abby, Jon and Wendy,
I was very saddened to hear of your Father's death. So
many wonderful memories flooded my mind. One of mine
and Cleon's favorites is when, in the midst of planning
Floyd's 80th birthday bash, he complained, "Oh, who
wants to be 80 years old anyway?", and your Mother shot
back, "Someone who's 79."
I am so, so sorry.
I am so, so sorry.
Time and distance negated my ability to bid farewell to one of the most unconditional friendships anyone has ever been honored to share. Floyd's standards of honesty and integrity were beyond reproach. I shall miss him dearly. Lo amo il mio amico
I just learned of your father's death when I received your package yesterday. My sincerest condolences. I visited with him in June. He was frail but we had a nice visit. I remember thinking that visit may be the last time I would see him. He was a keen wit with a twinkle in his eye. I first met Floyd 38 years ago as a law clerk in Jefferson Parish. I have treasured our friendship over all those years.
Dearest Wendy, Jon and Abby,
Thank you for sharing Viv and Floyd with me, I loved them dearly. Since I met "The Judge" some 46 yrs. ago there was an unspoken warmth between us, it was steadfast and true and will live on in my heart forever.
Much love, Leslie Holtzman
To the Newlin Family,
Our condolences to your family. The Judge was a fine man and true friend. We enjoyed our horse partnership and have many fond memories of our victories.

Abbey, Jon, and Wendy --
I was so sorry to read of your father's death, and also of your mother's, as that is the first I had known. Am thinking of the many, many times they so graciously and generously put up with me hanging around the house. Condolences to all.
Wendy and Abby and Jon, I'm sorry to hear of Uncle Floyd's passing. I hope that you are all well. Please know that my thoughts are with you.
Judge Newlin was a credit to the Bench of the 24th JDC. He was firm, but fair. Young lawyers learned a lot about the practice of law from him. He took no nonsense on the Bench, but was very approachable off the Bench. Well respected and admired during his term. RIP, Your Honor! You have served well! God Bless.
wendy' you have my heartfelt sympathy.I know he would be watching the US Open. d Dee
