Sunday August 18th, 2013...one of my closest mentors passed. Frank William Kurz Jr. was first a husband to his wife Norma and father to his six children. He was a devoted member of his Catholic parish church, Holy Name of Jesus.

In the work environment Frank was a respected architect. Our family first met him at the construction of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Quincy, IL. After the completion of this project he moved to St. Louis to start his own architectural practice and consult with Klaric Contracting Co. To my father John Klaric and my mother Marilee Klaric he was a good friend and devoted employee of Klaric Contracting Company.

From Frank I learn so much about the ins and outs of the construction industry. A patient teacher, he was always available to help and instruct. For my brother Bill Klaric and I, he was a partner and guide when we formed Klaric Masonry,Inc.

His contributions to the construction of many St. Louis landmarks are too many to list. But, masonry work at One Bell Center, the Arch grounds, the Old Court House, Adams Mark Hotel, the St. Louis Basilica Cathedral and Maryville 6 and 7 were some of the most outstanding.

Frank will be dearly missed but his memory lives on in the many structures he helped to build.
