From the first day in the spring of 1977 when we met Gary at the office of the park. it took just a brief chat to realize what a wonderful time we were going to have putting in a trailer. When we left the park in the spring of 98' It was obvious to us. He did turn out to be that really terrific guy with an outstanding sense of humor. (Especially when he beat us down at the horseshoe pits). We will dearly miss him during our yearly visit to the park. Our sincere condolences to the Hooper family.
Mr Hooper was an extra set of eyes and ears on my brother and I growing up in Birch Cove. I always tried to fly under the "Hoop" radar at the park, my brother Cameron wasn't always so lucky. He was the father figure on the weekends keeping us out of trouble when our own dad wasn't up for the weekend. Sorry to hear about your loss, he was truly a very respected man.
