Jere and I became friends in 1957 when, barely out of graduate school, I joined the English faculty of St. Petersburg Junior College (now St. Petersburg College). Our group of new teachers found fellowship and fun in and away from the college.
Later my family and Jere became friends as they worked to preserve the natural setting of St. Petersburg.
Jere and her cherished sister Amber Turner were world travelers and we looked forward each Christmas to Jere's vivid accounts of their experiences.
She was smart, exacting (ever the English teacher) and a delightful friend. My husband Bill, my family and I will miss her greatly.

Joe and family, my thoughts and prayers have been with you. I so wanted to be at the service. I just couldn't get there. This will be upsetting for Mary Lou.
Love and Blessings
In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.
