One of Mom's famous sayings, that I heard too much was: 'Just you wait until your Daddy gets home!'

I have many great memories of a wonderful person. Taking walks around the block, skating and many words of encouragement. She loved to cook and always made more than we could eat. Grand-mommy was always happy to help and never missed a chance to tell me I did well at something. "Oh you little doll, you" still comes to mind at times. The love and joy in her voice was always present no matter what. I miss you.

I also got to travel around the country with Grandmom and Granddad when I was a kid. We stopped and read every historical marker and they let me navigate. We'd stop at picnic areas and eat bologna sandwiches and drink pepsi from small glass bottles. I spent more time with them from when I was 2 till about 10 then any other adults. On the road, Grandmom would see someone whiz by and say, "He was going like a house afire!" She would always make my favorite dessert, banana pudding, when I would come to visit. I'm glad I got to see her more in these last few years since I moved back to Texas and I will miss her. My thoughts and love are with my mom and aunt and uncles as they grieve their mother.

I remember many great memories. We took many walks around the block, you and Granddad took us roller skating, and traveling. You were a wonderful cook and loved a house full of kids. Grandmother quotes: "Good morning Miss America....your the sweetest one you little doll."You are loved very much and are greatly missed.

We traveled through life together as a family, from one end of the United States to the other, from Alaska to Canada back to Texas. Mom held our family together, even when Dad was away for the Korean war. She has seen her children grow up and become parents themselves. And her as a grandmother sharing her love with all the grandkids and great grand kids. I will never forget all the sacrifices that mom made to take care of us children and grandchildren. It wasn't easy taking care of 4 kids. Whatever was needed she was willing to do. Mom was a true mom, took care of us when we were sick, made sure we had what we needed for school, active in all our activities. Mom made sure life's daily schedules were complete. Working from sun up to sun down taking care of us kids. She played many roles in our lives. She was our mother, nurse, referee, cook. We made a lot of wonderful memories since we moved mom and dad here with us. That gave us a chance to spend time with them, we loved, appreciated and are grateful for that time we had with them. Now that her time on earth is complete, I hope that she will be able to rest in peace in heaven. We will love and miss her very much.
