Bro. Ray is a blessing. He is a man that mattered. These pass few weeks he continued to show us how to finish well. He is rejoicing today and forever in glory. Family, what great memories you have. God's comfort and blessings,
John Yarbrough, Truett-McConnell College.
Please accept my sincere sympathy on Bro. Ray's homegoing. I remember his kindness when he served in Columbus. I played the piano at Pinehurst and was active in the BSU. I don't really remember how our paths crossed. Funny--he seemed much older than me then, but not so much anymore! May you know God's peace at this difficult time.
Gwen, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. We love you. Please let us know if you need anything at all.

Our deepest sympathy to your family. We knew Dr. Newman by reputation only, but what an outstanding one he had! What a testament to his Lord and Savior he had....he will be missed. Sincerely, Rev. and Mrs. Brock Burnett, Winder 1st Presbyterian Church.
Praying for the family of this great man!
Rusty, please accept our prayers for your family in this difficult time. Your dad was a great man of God - unafraid to take a strong stand for what is right. I know you will miss him greatly. Take comfort in knowing that he is at rest with the Lord.

Gwen, Rusty and family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I was very young when I attended Norris Road Baptist Church, but I still remember how kind Brother Ray was to me. He touched so many lives and we are all better people because of him. All of you are in my prayers.
I was Ray's secretary for 8 years when he was at Liberty Baptist in Columbus, Ga. Was a great man and everyone who knew him loved him. My family and I have much to thank this man for. We will all miss him so much.

I am saddened to learn about Ray's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Mom also sends her condolences. She said, "Jack would have been proud of what Ray accomplished."
Dear Gwen, Please know I was saddened to hear of Ray's passing. The two of you were so instrumental in my life during my difficult years. You have given me counseling and guidance and Christian love when I needed it so badly. I remember Ray as my pastor and friend. I know that even now God has you wrapped in His arms of love. I know Rusty and Laura and those grandchildren will be there for you. Just know I am thinking of you and praying for you in the days ahead. Love, Paulette Roberts
Our thoughts are with the family and friends at this time.
My sympathies to you and your family in the death of your loved one. While I did not know Dr. Newman, I have heard Pastor Joe speak lovingly of his brother on many occasions. He was a great servant of God who accomplished many things. Again, my condolences to you and your family,Bonnie Mackneer (Berea Christian Church member)
