sorry for the loss Hank very nice guy on the phone
Dear Hank's family, I was very shocked and saddened to read Hank's obituary. Although I didn't know him as an adult, I remember him as the cute little tyke that belonged to Pat! (I remember how Pat snuck that cow bell into his High School graduation, and boy was it ever loud!! She was such a nut and so funny!) Our families have had "ties" in the past. Hank's dad was a cop in Jefferson, and Hank's mom was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary with my mother, Nan Colie, and they were good friends. My dad, Russell Colie, was also active in the Post. Hank's sister, Susan, was in my son's (Christopher Simmons) classes in grammar school (they were both in the last kindergarten class taught by Mrs. Elizabeth Riggs, after which she retired. Recently, I was going through family pictures and came across photos I had taken of their kindergarten trip to Gingerbread Castle in 1971). And Hank's grandparents had a "Mom & Pop" grocery store in Oak Ridge for quite a few years, which was where we were able to buy bread, milk, and such, locally, instead of having to travel all the way to Dover (we moved up to Longwood Lake in October 1957! Trust me, there was NOTHING there!). I was very sad when Pat passed. My mother passed in November 2003. My brother Jimmy passed in October 2008. I am so sorry for your loss!
Eileen T. Simmons (nee Colie)

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family of my friend "Hank". I have fond memories of him. I will never forget when I met Hank back in the 70's at Van Genderen's. He was our "go to" guy during our glory days of "muscle cars". Hank was always so helpful. It was an honor to know his daughter Janine and son-in-law Doug. They always spoke the world of Hank. Hank will be missed dearly, but never forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family now and always.
