Gary, I'm sorry for your loss and hope that you find comfort in the wonderful memories of your mom. She was a great lady and I admired her. Paula
Ken, Gary, Lynette and families: I am so sorry for your loss. As you know, I knew Irene longer than my whole life! As Bob and my dad were friends from grade school, and the couples remained close friends their whole lives, I saw them frequently. They vacationed together, played cards together, went to dances, socials, parties, picnics together... What fun. Bob and Ike ("Ike Spike M'Dike" to my dad sometimes) always seemed to be to be the perfect couple. I know you will all sorely miss her.
What a life well lived! She will be dearly missed.
Mrs. Allen was a sweet lady and a wonderful secretary! I remember her fondly when I attended Williamston Middle School. You have my deepest sympathy. Liz Larson-Davis, Williamston
To the family of Irene I send my condolences to you.
I worked with Irene at the General Telephone switchboard from 1956 until they switched to dial. also, was in Extension Club with her for a while. Saw her on the few occasions I went to the Senior Citizen dinners.
I remember she always had a ready smile.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Sincerely, Margaret Travis Williamston
Irene, may you rest in peace..
Ken, Gary, Lynette and Families! I am sorry to see Ike leaving this world. She was a very principled and strong woman, always demanding respect and love. She was my only sister-in-law left, and she never failed to remind me of this. Now I am the only one left. We had many good times visiting, sharing a couple of cruises, but also much pain with the illnesses and deaths of Bob and other family members. She always rose to the occasion and was able to live a good and long life. "I love you, Ike, and will miss you." God bless you all, Jo.
If there was a matriarch at Williamston Middle School, I am sure it was Irene. We as a retiree group have stayed close and continue to support each other. Irene always wanted to be involved. We will all miss her...you had a very special mother and grand mother..
Truly sorry for your loss Ken, Gary and Lynette and kids. She was a great person that many people loved. I'll always have so many good memories of spending time with Bob and Irene at wrestling meets and out at the house. Sincere thoughts and prayers from the Fishers on this sad occasion. Dale Fisher Family
The post regarding the camping, snowmobiling, cottage, etc was from Bev Kester
Sorry to hear about your Mom Ken You and your Family are in our prays.
Allen Family, I am so sorry for your loss. You have been blessed with a fun mother. Ike was a funny person, never knew when she was going to break out into a laugh, she had a great poker hand. Loved it when she would say, rub your elbow on my head and perk up my naturally curly hair! Never knew what was going to come out of her mouth, but 9 times out of 10 it made ya laugh! Loved Your mom to pieces.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
Ken, Gary and family. We are so sorry to hear about your mom. She was a great lady and we so enjoyed our visits with her. Whenever we'd see her, she always had a hug for us. It was a pleasure to have known her all these years, thru you kids, work and as a friend.
So sorry to hear about Irene. I am thinking about all the camping, boating, camp fires, the times at the cottages, snowmobiling, everything our families did together,it was the best of times.
So sorry to hear this. I have known her for many years. Many thoughts for her family. Karen(Stevens) Bell.
I am so sorry Irene and I did not get to meet last summer, we always think there will be time next year to do it. But not for us. I have so many good memories of her and Bob that I will always cherish.
My deepest sympathy to all of you.
Love and prayers
