We were so sorry to hear that Jim has passed and will always remember him fondly.
Doug, Patsy, Max and Rico Coleman (Port Orange, FL)
Don and I met you and Jean in 1997 when we bought our townhouse. You were instantly our dearest friends. We had so many good times in that 15 years - remember "swapping" the dreaded pink flamingo in each other's front door?!
You and Jean had such a beautiful love story. I can see and hear you now looking at Jean and saying, "I love you with all my heart." And you did - it showed in everything you did for her. You simply cherished your precious Jean.
You were truly such a wonderful man - a big, burly ex-military guy, but really just a big ole teddy bear!
Don and I will always cherish our friendship with you. Rest in peace, dear one.
We love you,
Don and meg
We are so sorry that Jim has passed away. He lived such an amazing life, and we are proud to say that we had the chance to meet him and get to know him. Our love goes out to all of you during this time of sorrow. Love and prayers from Delphine and Penny, Jimmy, Miriam and Owen Breslin.
Jim was one of the first folks I met when I moved into the neighborhood and Bailey decided from that very first walk/meeting that you and he were going to be lifelong buddies. I thank you for your kindness and friendship. We will truly miss you! Our thoughts, prayers and condolences to Jean and family
My grand father passed away when I was to young to comprehend his death. My mom told me of the first time I met Mr Jim I immediately called him papa and instead of correcting me he took over the role and immediately accepted me as his own. He has always been there for me and spoiled me rotten. He was the only grand father I had in my life and took the role proudly. My mom was a single parent and Mr Jim always made sure we would never wanted for anything. Whether he was helping out with my first car to helping me buy my first house, he always took care of me. He taught me how to take care of myself and to push myself into being the person I'am today. His love for his family and the compassion he had for his fellow person always made me proud to be his grand daughter. I love him with all my heart and know he will watch over us from above.
It was my honor to know you even for such a short time. You will be greatly missed. My condolences to Jean, Sue and the family. Rachel Hedrick
Mr. Jim, you will be truly missed. Lisa and I, couldn't have asked for a better nieghbor. Our condolences to Ms. Jean and the rest of the family. May peace and comfort find you in this time of sorrow.
You were everything a father should be to me. Firm but always fair. Kind and honest. I loved my step father and he loved me. Thank you for always being there to help. You will be missed! Rae and Ed
Like my father, Jim belonged to that generation of great Americans who we are eternally grateful to. He did what had to be done and remained stoic throughout. Thank you for sharing your love with my mother and living your life as an example for all of us. We will always remember you. May Peace be with you.
A final salute to my 2nd dad. My proud life long veteran and friend. You lived your life as you wanted, in full control and ended it exactly as you wanted. Everything was planned and executed in writing as in motion. Thanks for all the loving memories. Now it is time to rest in peace. Daughter #1. Sue
I will never forget the first time I met you at six years old. Grandma and you surprised us by picking us up at daycare. You said hello and we asked what we should call you, to which you responded "Mr Jim." We sat next to you in the backseat on the way home, staring at you and giggling the entire way. I am so thankful for all the joy you brought Grandma and the rest of the family. I love you Mr Jim. May you rest in peace.
To my beloved grandpa in Florida,
I will always remember the wonderful times with you and grandma. My memories will remain with the smiles at the beach, in the swimming pool and at the great places we would visit. Thank you for taking such good care of grandma. You will be thought of and never forgotten.
Jenny & your great grandson James
