I just learned of your dad's death tonight and wanted to offer my condolences. We worked together in Huntsville & have kept in touch over the years. He was so proud of the both of you & loved you both so much. He'll be missed.
My prayers are with Jim's Family...I knew him as he worked in the field of Public Health. He was a very good man.
Howard Surface, Cary, NC
My sympathies go out to Jim's daughters and all other family members. Jim was a colleague of mine in the Division of Public Health, and I enjoyed my association with him over those years. I did not know we shared the same birthday. Had I known that I would have insisted we buy each other a drink on that day to celebrate. I know he would have enjoyed that.
My prayers go out to Jim's girls and all of his family. May God wrap his arms around you and carry you through. I had just met Jim when he became the Iredell County Health Director. I soon learned what a truly caring person he was. He always had a kind word for everyone and would stop at our office doors just to say hi.
So sorry to hear of Jim's passing. Worked together as Health Directors and he was a joy to be around. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
To his lovely daughters, I am so sorry for your loss. I had been communicating with Jim through eHarmony, and was enjoying getting acquainted. I lost my husband in 2010, and am raising two teenaged sons, so we had a lot in common. He was a thoroughly charming man. He talked about you often. You both made him very proud.
Again, I am so sorry for your loss.
Hillary, I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. You're dad was one of the sweetest and funniest people I have ever met. I will always remember the times he drove us around listening to our crazy music, cheering for us at soccer games, and painting his nails with us. He really loved you and Maureen. He is a great man that made a huge impact on my family and my life and he will be missed greatly. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Maureen.
Hillary and Maureen, We are so very sorry for your loss. Steve and I fondly remember your father from the time we spent with him at soccer games when Hillary and our daughter Hannah played together. He had such a great sense of humor and was so proud of his girls. We know you will miss him so much. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.
I am so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed working with your Dad while he was out in the west because of his quick wit and sense of humor. He truly wanted to leave a place better off than he found it and he did!
Maureen ,Hillary we are deeply saddened for the loss of your father .
Our thoughts and prayer are with you .
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I knew Jim back in his Texas days. I was saddened to hear of his passing, but my memories of him will always be full of smiles and joy. He had an infectious laugh and he truly touched the lives of those around him. I am honored to have called him a friend.
Hillary & Maureen,
I only met your dad two months ago but he impressed me with his intelligent mind, generous nature and obvious deep love for his two favorite girls. Your loss is great and he will be missed by many. My deepest sympathy to you and your extended family.
Offering our deepest condolences during this difficult time.

Girls, I am so sorry for the loss of your doting father. I remember him fondly from when we played together at family gatherings. Your grandmother, Gladys, was my Aunt.
Maureen and Hilary, I am so very sorry for your loss. I just spoke with Jim a few days earlier at the State Health Director's Conference and was stunned to hear of his passing so suddently. My prayers are with you.
I was so sorry to hear of the passing of your father. I enjoyed working with him while he was in Cherokee County. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
One of the last things he said was, "I'm beginning to think change isn't so bad after all."
I grew up with your Dad. We attended St. Pius X elementary school together. We lost contact after high school but reconnected when he owned the flower shop and so had the privilege of knowing your mother also. My husband would help deliver flowers for them on Valentines Day. They were wonderful people and no words can express our sadness. You will all remain in our prayers. Jon and Mary Kay Anderson
Our sincerest sympathies for your families loss. We both worked with Jim at Public Health for many years and knew him both personally and professionally.

My prayers are with your family.
