JA and family,
I was very sad to hear about James passing. I realize that is October already, but I live out of state and learned about it via facebook. James brought so many memorable moments to everyone's lives young and old. I remember cutting his hair. He was my favorite patron. So I hope God will wrap his loving arms around your entire family to give you all the strength to get through your difficult times. Sincerely Karen

When I was growing up in Decatur, some of my fondest memories were from the skating rink. James was always a very nice man, and a wonderful skater. Thanks so much for the great memories, and may God bless his family who grieve his loss.
My heart is heavy hearing this sad news. James was such a gracious, kind person who I have admired since i was a young boy. Gone, but not forgotten...you will live on in the hearts of those of us whom you pretty much watched grow up and have also watched our children grow up as well. James..a very well loved man.
May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived and may God give the family peace and comfort that only he can provide in such a time of grieving!!!
James was a tremendous influence on me as I grew up skating. He made sure to provide a safe and fun place for all to share. One of my earliest memories was of him helping me learn to skate when I was 5yrs old. It seems like yesterday when we walked across the parking lot from the old rink to the brand new Skate Castle to celebrate its opening. I still love to skate and now I have the privilege of bringing my kids.
What a wonderful man! How sad it is that the good ones get taken.... God bless the family.
Lots of memories made during my childhood. James gave me my first job at rink. He will be missed.

Dear JA & Donna and girls,
My heart goes out to you all for the Loss of A Wonderful, Honarable, Friendliest, Loving, Compasiante, Friend. He was a second daddy to me as I was growing up and working at the skating rink. He was always asking if everthing is ok and was there anything I needed. He always thought of others. That was who He was. I remember several times he would go down the Big slide with me because I was afraid and wouldnt go by myself. Give dimes pout to play machines in arcade. He was a wonderful boss and friend. I know there are several lives that he has touched and will be missed greatly. Just know that he is not suffing and will be watching over you as A Wonderful ANGLE !! One day we all will see him again!! Oh how many CROWNS HE will have for the LOVE HE has given to so many without!! We love you.
My children, my grandchildren and now my great grandchildren have experienced the joy of skating at Funland. James was a wonderful person that had the young ones best interest at heart. Also, everytime I ever saw him and Donna out, after so many years of not seeing them - they always remembered me and would ask about my son Todd Kinard, who skated in all the contest at Funland. We will cherish these memories forever.
