I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Jeanne was a lovely, witty, warm and creative woman, a dear friend of my late mother, Frieda Milgram. I learned sadly yesterday at an art opening at University House of her passing. Be well. Fondly, Denise (Milgram) Lishner.
Jeanne Marie was the mother of my dearest friend, Janice. From grade school through high school, Jean was the mother to all, who would correct our manners, the incorrect use of the english language and would gently chastise us for the use of "bad" words - always done with kindness & love. She lived her life with grace and was a wonderful example to all of us. I will miss her. Susan Vickery, Mather, Ca.
Jeanne was the beginning of my career as a Braillist. I was one of the people who sat at her dining room table and learned on the Perkins. We started with 5 or 6 of us and ended with 3, one of which was a new person who had been teaching herself Braille, Georgia Findling. Jeanne was ever patient with me and a wonderful teacher and mentor. Even after the class, we were told to ask questions and she would answer. I met her through Pat Coalman, who has since passed away. Pat and I went to the SAB meetings together and I got to know Jeanne even more. I know within my heart that she is with her husband and they are having a wonderful time together again. God bless her and her family, she was proud of you both and loved you very much.
Jeanne was my mentor, teacher, and friend. I first met her back in 1990 when I came to her home weekly to learn braille. I was part of her Seattle Area Braillists group as a braille transcriber. She was beside me in thought and spirit, and in person when possible, during my years as director of the Louis Braille Center and the Louis Braille School. Her talents are many. Most outstanding is her bright and shining heart. Rest well, dear Jeanne.
I would like to extend my condolences for the loss of Jeanne. While I never had the opportunity to meet her the stories I have heard from her granddaughter Nathana are a testament to a wonderful woman. May peace and love surround your family now and in the future.
