Jere and I were both Braves fans, we 'talked baseball' every day I saw him. He was a great friend and I know he loved his family and cared about all of us in the building. He will be missed and in our prayers.
Thank you for sharing Jere with us here at 1117 Perimeter Center West.
Jere was the BEST!
I arrived at work this morning, after having been off a week due to a family medical emergency, and Jere did not greet me. I thought to myself - Darn, Jere must be off today. I had a sadness come over me since he wasn't there to greet me. It wasn't until I arrived in my office did I learn of his passing. I was overwhelmed with sadness!
I have worked in this building for almost two years and from the first day, Jere welcomed me everyday he was there. He asked my name and even though he knew my name, he would great me with "Good Morning, Pretty Lady!" (Even, if he was on the phone checking on his wife!) Now, I know he used that term for others, but he always started my day off with a smile when I entered those doors.
I enjoyed speaking with him and discussing family, Braves, Falcons and my love of Georgia football. I am very grateful that my path crossed Jere's.
I will miss him but was blessed for knowing him.
Jere was a true gentleman. I've worked at 1117 for five years, and being greeted by Jere as I came through the front door was part of my morning routine. In addition, we taught dozens of international students here at Troy University, and Jere always remembered their names, greeted them as they arrived, and made "small talk" with them. This helped their English skills and increased their self-confidence. One holiday, when Troy was closed but Jere was at 1117, an international student arrived in the U.S. without our knowledge; the student came directly to 1117 from the airport, only to discover that no one was there except Jere. Jere took the poor guy under his wing, notified us of his arrival, and then drove him to a nearby hotel so the student would have a place to stay for the night. Jere Hatfield went above and beyond the call of duty at all times. He was a great guy who was loved by all.
i used to like talking football and sharing a few Vegas stories together. Jere will always be awesome!!! God Bless to his family
Jere will truly be missed in the 1117 Perimeter Center Bldg. My prayers go out to Jere and his family.
I thank God for just getting to know Jere. I will miss seeing him in the hallway and the security desk at the 1117 building. May the Lord continue to Bless his family Because truly I do know that earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.
I would like to thank Jere's family for sharing him with so many of us at 1117 Perimeter Center. Jere was truly one of the kindness people I have ever had the pleasure of befriending. The entrance into to the North lobby will never be the same without his great smile and friendly greeting. My God's blessing be with you all doing your time of sorrow.
Jere always had a smile and would speak to you every time he passed you in the halls here at 1117 Peremeter Building. He will be truly missed. My heart goes out to the family with the loss of such a wonderful person. I will miss the smile, the "Good morning" and just the little chats during the work hours to help pass our day away. God Bless.
I didn't know Jere personnally but he would aways have a smile on his face and a hello everytime I saw him walking through the building. That will truly be missed. My deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Jere. He will be missed.
God Bless this family, I work at 1117 and Jere always had a great smile, he was very talkative and had our little chat, will miss him every day I come to work, but know that like an Angel his presence will be felt.
Jere and I talked cars. We both had a love of Corvettes. Loved his picture with Sophia Loren.
Jere was a wonderful man and such a kind spirit. He will be missed by all of us here at Perimeter Center. I always enjoyed my chats with Jere.
I am so glad to have known Jere, and will truly miss being greeted as his "favorite recruiter" as I come to work everyday (because I was the only one he knew :). He really had a way of connecting with anyone he met, making them laugh, and making them feel welcome. He touched the lives of many, and will be greatly missed. I am comforted by the thought that he is smiling down on us and enjoying all of the heartfelt thoughts from everyone. My prayers are with his family as they mourn such a great loss.
Jere was such a special person who touched many people's lives with his genuine interest, warmth, and good humor. He remembered everyone's names, including our international students at Troy University! Jere often went beyond the call of duty. One time we had an international student who arrived at our building on a holiday. Everything was closed. Jere took the student to an extended stay that was located down the street. That student never forgot Jere's kindness. The North Lobby front desk at 1117 Perimeter Center West is too empty without our angel.
JERE HATFIELD he was very good man.
My deepest sympathy to the Hatfield family
May good be with you.
Jere was the face of 1117 Perimeter Center West and was a great help for us as we assumed management of the property back in 2003. He was always willing to help out whever we needed it--leasing tours, building history, tenant events, and anything else. We grew to be good friends and had great times with the football pool, troubleshooting building issues and working with our tenants/vendors. A sad day indeed and condolences to the family.
Dear Family of Jere Hatfield,
I am so sorry for your lose. I wanted you all to know that Jere touched so many lives at 1117 Perimeter. I was reminded every time I walked in the door that its going to be a good day as Jere always had a smile on his face! Jere will be missed greatly. He touched many! My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family.
I will miss our friendly Salutes and great conversation about anything and everything. Great Man! He will be missed.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
Jere was, without doubt, the highlight of my day every time I came to the office. What was amazing about Jere is that he always found a way to connect with someone, whether it was sports, jokes--he had that rare ability to find that link with any person he met. He will be tremendously missed
My deepest sympathy to the Hatfield family. I worked with Jere in the management office while at 1117 PCW. He will always hold a special place in my heart.
There was not one single morning that I saw Mr. Jere in the North Building that he did not greet me with a smile and his famous line "Good Morning Pretty Lady". You are truly going to be missed but I know you are in a better place smiling down at your Family and Friends. Rest in Peace, Sleep in Peace and smile in one Peace...
Awwww man Mr. Jere you will be truly missed... Out of all my years of working i will never and never will have a supervisor so humble and good spirited.. My condolences are with the family
A man always there to greet you with a smiling face and a warm hello. Even if you didn't know him well, you wanted to. So easy to like he was certain to remind several of their own fathers. Seeing Jere just last week I am shocked and saddened that he is gone. Yet at the same time so very honored to have my life touched by his and know that he is at peace.

I have known Mr Hatfield most of my life, as I grew up with his son Lance. I remember him trying to inspire us when we were teenagers; he would tell us stories of his days in the Marines. Mr. Hatfield never talked down to us or appeared frustrated, with our very misguided adolescence. He was a very warm soul, and I pray for many blessings over his family during this season of loss.
Jere had a significant impact on my life. His casual way and genuine interest and caring for others was his calling card. Everybody appeared to know and love Jere here at 1117 Perimeter West, but more impressive was that Jere could seemingly call everyone who passed his desk by their name. This is a big building and that's a lot of folks! So I know his impact was much greater than just me. We will sorely miss our angel here on earth, but I can't wait to be greeted by Jere as I enter into heaven one day!

Jere was a good man, a very good man.
I had the privilege of knowing Jere for only a few months, but he certainly has left a huge impression. When I began working at the building where he worked as security manager from day one he made me feel well taken care of and special. There was not a day that Jere did not greet me with a warm welcome, most times quickly beating me to the door to open it for me. Jere was a true gentleman which is so rare these days. He worked hard at making everyone, I mean everyone, feel welcome. His special ability to brighten my (and everyone's) day is one that will truly be missed! He honestly cared about people and it showed in everything he did. I am thankful that I was able to meet and get to know him in the short time that I did. Jere was one in a million. My thoughts and prayers go to his family and to his friends especially his crew at Perimeter Center.

Jere was one of the sweetest man. He would always greet me with a hug and a smile and I will miss that. He will be truly missed by so many people. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
I will miss Jere so much..his smile, his friendly words and always willing to go up the elevator with me when I didn't feel like walking up the stairs. A beautiful man with an even more beautiful spirit. It was a blessing to know him.
We been working together for so long and we have a lot of good memories to share.
We all Cafe1117 staff are going to miss your smiling face for a long long time.
Jere's greeting smile and warm personality will be missed by all at 1117. God has blessed us with his presence. May you and your family be comforted by the joy he shared with so many here.
God bless you,
Jere was a great guy with a great love for life. During my time at 1117 we had many great democratic conversations. Im sorry to here that Jerry wont be placing his vote today.
Jere was a very very special man. He treated people respect & kindness. He was always willing to lend people a hand and help out. Jere understood that life was about relationships and service. He was a generous and gracious man with a huge heart.
I will always remember Jere's laugh it was heart warming and genuine. I have a pretty crazy laugh too. I remember laughing so hard in that atrium - Im sure the whole building could here us.
Jerry gave me Braves tickets for a day game one time and I took the the whole family. I came back and gave him a picture of my daughter doing the chop. He told me a few years later he still had the picture on his refrigerator at home.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
"Everyday was a good day because "Jere" always greated me with a smile and kind words when I walked into building 1117. I will miss seeing him every morning. My deepest regrets go out to him family for the loss of this wonderful man.
My deepest sympathies to Jere's family. Jere was a kind soul and had such a friendly disposition and I will miss the cheery "good morning little Debbie" greeting and chit chat everyday.
Rest in Peace.
Jere's love for his family, country, Marine Corps and 1117 was immeasurable.
I had the great pleasure to discuss many of those topics with him over breakfast in the cafeteria. Jere brought out the best in us all and will be missed dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with the Hatfield family.
While I only knew Jere from our conversations at the security desk, I always thought of him as a friend and someone I could confide in. He had a good sense of humor and really knew how to keep things in perspective. His good advice and supportive insights were always something that I appreciated. He was a very special person who will be sorely missed by many, many people. It was a privilege to know Jere and I consider myself very lucky to have known him.
I used to look forward to seeing Jere's smiling face each morning as I entered the office building. He was a nice start to the day. We used to talk about Florida State and college football. He will be dearly missed.
I was saddened to hear the news of Jere's passing when I arrived at my office on Monday morning. My company moved to the 1117 Perimeter Center West building three years ago and from the first day I walked through the doors Jere asked me my name was always there with a smile and a personal greeting to start my day. I will miss the quick chats about the Falcons, Braves or any significant news event happening and most of all I will miss Jere's pleasant smile and greeting. My condolences to the Hatfield family.
I will miss Jere's smile and laugh. He was a good man with a kind heart. He will be missed by so many. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
Jere made my mornings as I walked into our building, he would smile and say "Good morning pretty lady how are you today?" and we would chat briefly about the weather, or how pretty our garden in the building is or how the braves or falcons were doing and it was just a wonderful way to start a day and I feel blessed to have known such a warm and caring man.
Jere was the first ray of sunshine I would see when I came into work each day. We shared stories and jokes and he was always laughing and smiling. He will be missed by many.
His warm welcome made us smile everyday.
My heart is broken and with great sadness you will be missed! The kindness, the encouragment, the prayers, and instructions that you gave. You will always be in my heart and all of the 1117 PCW Security Guards will miss you. My condolences goes out to your family and you will always be in our prayers.
There needs to be more" Jere's" in the world. He greeted all with a warm heart. He loved his family so much. He will be missed!

My condolences for your loss. Jere was a wonderful man and his presence here at 1117 will be sorely missed. He always greeted me by name or "pretty lady" and it made my day each and every morning. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
My deepest sympathies to the family of Mr. Hatfield.
May our Father in the heavens please be upon the relatives and close friends, and may you please allow him to speak to you through Isaiah the 26th chapter and 19th verse.
First of all, It is sad just to know that He is gone forever. I have known and worked with Jere for about a Year now. I filled in for Him when He was on FMLA for about seven Months. We became goood friends in the process. I looked up to Him as a good role Model and a Father Figure. He treated everyone with respect and dignity. Fought for the rights of his Officers or Security Staff when necessary. He was an exceptional Human Being. Like I always say"Jere was an Icon at 1117 Perimeter Center West. Loved by all the Tenants. He is really going to be missed. May Allah The Almight shower him with Love, Peace and Harmony. May his Soul rest in the Highest Level in Jannah(Heven). Amen!!!
Finally, I would like to extend my Heart felt condelences to his Wife,Friends,Co-Workers and the entire Family.
I was Jere's supervisor, and by far he was the best supervisor I ever had. He knew everyone by their first name, always had a smile on his face, and LOVED to play the lottery! I will truly miss him dearly, I am very glad he was in my life.
Jere was a truly special man. He always cared about everyone and always had a smile on his face. When I came in early in the mornings, I was greeted by Jere and Norm. Jere gave me the nickname "Sunshine". Everytime I saw Jere throughout day he would say "good morning Sunshine". He will truly be missed. Linda Smith (Dawsonville, GA)
I started working out of the 1117 building in 2001 and Jere was one of the first people that I met. He had a kind heart and great personality. He will be missed by many. It will be hard walking into the café and not seeing Jere's face.
For the past 12 years Jere has greeted me at the 1117 Perimeter Center West building where we both worked. His smiling face and great attitude will be missed! I loved talking with him about sports, the lottery, and the consumer products industry. He was a very special person.
I only knew Jere for 5 months after being hired in the management office at 1117 Perimeter Center West. However, it felt as if I've known him for years. Not a morning went by where I wasn't treated with a great southern accent "Hello Darling." Seeing him eat his regular breakfast and watching the news with the Engineers every morning. We had just celebrated his birthday and was able to take a picture of him smiling with joy. He is dearly missed!! I am blessed to have met such a wonderful man and will always cherish those 5 months of knowing him. My condolences to his family.
We knew the Hatfields as "back fence" neighbors for several years. During this time we had our noses to the grindstone working and paying the bills.
I have fond memories of Jere during Monday Night Football, bottle rocket battles with the neighbors on New Years eve, coaching "T" league and later having him teach our Sunday School Class.
Jere was a generous, good friend and will be sorely missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched.
Not once did I walk through those doors on the North side at 1117 Perimeter Center that I wasn't greeted with a smile by Jere. You don't come across too many people like him. I'll miss our talks about football and about life in general. He got a kick out of calling me "Lonely Man" ever since I told him I chose that name for the building football pool he oversaw because my wife was teaching overseas. He's touched my life forever and I feel blessed to have known him. Rest in peace Jere. You've done well here.
I did not know Jere but I know he was a good man because I know his son Lance. Lance talked admirably of his dad and loved him very much. Intelligence, caring and being a very thoughtful person are all attributes that I know of Lance....And the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Jere was a good man and father. My thoughts and prayers are with the Hatfield family. God bless.
Jere touched many lives at 1117 Perimeter Center West, mine among them. We had many things in common, discovered in early morning chats as I arrived at the office. My father was a career Marine. Jere and I were both Scorpios, with birthdays two days apart. He was a constant in a sea of changing faces, always ready with a greeting and a smile. Many of us will feel a hole in our lives without Jere's steadying presence at the office building. I hope your sorrow is eased knowing how much so many of us in this building appreciated Jere. He will be missed
It is with great sadness, that we offer our condolences for your loss. Jere was our friend and that means so much in our world today. My wife, Vena and I, will miss Jere very much. His smile and attitude were welcome additions to every day - "So far, so good."
