I did not know Joan personally, however it sounds like she was truly an inspiration to all the lives she touched and will be greatly missed not only by her loving family but by friends as well . So to all I wish to express my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your dear Joan truly a woman gone too soon. May your deep love and warm memories carry you through in the days to come.
Although I do not believe I have ever met Joan, it saddens me to hear about the passing of one my league family members. As John Donne wrote "do not ask for whom the bell tolls it tolls for thee" You are all in my prayer's God Bless.
I met Joan when our sons played basketball together and then was pleased to see her again at the League where she worked and I was an artist. We shared books to read and our dreams. I wanted to be a bead artist and she wanted to be a nurse. When she left to pursue that dream, we lost touch, but I am not surprised that she thrived as a nurse. Joan was a caring person and a good listener. I am so sad to learn of her loss.
I have so many wonderful memories of Joan & the thoughtful caring person she has always been. Our prayers are with you all. Diane & Roger Keniston

My heart hurts. What an absolute treasure Joan was. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to get to know her and blessed to have had her as a friend. We graduated nursing school together and started on the same unit at Concord Hospital as new grads together - we shared many laughs and many tears along the way. She truly found her calling. The lives she touched as a nurse are forever changed for the better. My thoughts are with her family. The road has been hard but may you find comfort in knowing how close to her heart you each are. God Bless you
