Dear Caroline, Joan and Alan:

I just found out about the passing of your lovely and kind mother, Joan McDaniel. I worked with her at Georgetown Children's House and for many years stayed in contact. We had missed a dinner together a few years ago, and follow-up efforts and visits to the house concerned me that I had lost my friend. I will always remember fondly the kind, elegant and stately lady known as Joan McDaniel, who took me into her home and her family. I will miss her!
