Dear Caroline, Joan and Alan:
I just found out about the passing of your lovely and kind mother, Joan McDaniel. I worked with her at Georgetown Children's House and for many years stayed in contact. We had missed a dinner together a few years ago, and follow-up efforts and visits to the house concerned me that I had lost my friend. I will always remember fondly the kind, elegant and stately lady known as Joan McDaniel, who took me into her home and her family. I will miss her!
To Aunt Joan's Family:
Aunt Joan's reminiscences of the past made my heritage come alive.
Dear Caroline, Joan and Alan,
God saw she was getting tired,
so God put His arms around her and
whispred "Come with me."
A golden heart has stopped beating
Hard working hands are at rest

To the Family of Aunt Joan,
We have all lost a brightstar in our family. She will always be remembered and missed as a model of grace, charm and gentility.
With our deepest sympathies and prayers.
