I took Jim's position with Mead Johnson when he retired. He was a kind and gracious man. Best to your family.
Pete and Paula,
This is from Beth's husband Alan. I never met Jim's grandfather, though I did get to know Jim's dad John pretty well. I think you are correct that John senior had a sweet nature, or pleasing nature as you put it. Also had that very calming speaking voice. Either could have worked in radio.
We'd be most grateful if you could jot down some facts about Jim's folks and his people, and share it with us. Let me know if you can, and we'll get together by email. We know very little, and Betty is not able to speak about it.
Incidentally, I think Jim returned your favor about a favorite cousin, as he admired your lifestyle, with the barest hint of envy, and not a trace of jealousy.
Tucson family, How did I forget that Jim was a Marine-must have come up a time or two. Reading your very well written obituary brought back fond memories. Jim most likely touched more folks in more good ways than we are able to know. Prayers and thoughts are with you all. Betty, girls and family, With the passing of Jim the world has lost a great person. With his personality and gifts everyone was blessed. He was my favorite cousin because of his charm. Paula my wife, said she felt most comfortable of all the relatives around Jim and Betty. He had his grandfather's and father's pleasing nature.

To the family of Jim Bennett. Jim was an exceptional man and Betty is an exceptional woman. Our paths often intertwined as many holidays and birthdays were spent together. Jim will be missed by all who knew him. My prayers go out to Jim's family during this difficult time. Beth, give your mom a kiss and a hug from me
Aunt Betty and Girls,
Our thoughts and prayers go out to you from the Schiess's in Klamath Falls. Always enjoyed being with and spending time with Jim. I'm very thankful for the many times we spent together in Tucson and at the coast. The obituary was very nice to read and remind all of us what a pleasure Jim was to have as company.
