Well, my family had the fortune of meeting the Boland family when our daughter was in preschool with William, one of the triplets. What amazed me about John was the fact that he never was around many kids before they had the boys and after having not one, but three sweet boys, you'd never believe he hadn't been around kids. It was as if that 'job' was just for him. I also remember taking my mom to a school function where she really didn't know anyone. Who would stop, sit and carry a conversation with her, but John. Being firefighters, he also gave us an old leather fire helmet of which sits upon a curio cabinet not letting a day go by that we don't see John. Thank you John for your kindness and your love!
I have so many stories I can share about John, I don't know where to begin. He and I worked together for almost 10 years producing local cable commercials and he was the first person I would speak to every day. The story that always comes to mind is when John came back from a commercial shoot all shook up and pale. He had stopped at a gas station to buy his Diet Mountain Dew and when he stepped away from the cooler with it in hand, a homeless man was right there next to him & walked right up to John face-to-face and just stared at him then walked away after 10 seconds or more. John put the drink back into the cooler and walked out the door and drove back to our office. When he came in I asked what was wrong with him and he started this story with "I think someone just stole my soul..." He then proceeded to tell it in the eloquent way only John could. I have many others and will post them as well. Happy birthday John, I really miss you buddy!
I remember one of the Heartland christmas parties where you guys were sitting close to the stage and John was afraid he was going to called to be part of the show. He was so releaved when he wasn't. I love you guys Tammy.
Betsy, Lisa and I just found out about both John and George today. We are so sorry for you and your mother's losses and pray for all of you. Love, Jack Collin (615) 495-7118.

I am an old friend of John's from WKU, I really feel saddened by John's passing. I think of John as one of the most generous and kind people I have ever known, and I feel so sad for you and your sons. God bless you all, Melissa Lanham, Cottage Grove, OR
Betsy, I dont know if you remember me but I worked with you and John at Chi Chi's in Bowling Green a long long time ago. I was just thinking about you guys today and someone told me about John. I have some pics on my facebook I would love to get to you somehow. I just went thru the pics you have on here. I know it must be so hard right now for you and your family. My prayers are with you. After looking at the pics I see John was soooo sooo happy. You two had a wonderful life. Please let me know what I can do for you and how to get those pics to you. All my love and my prayers.
So sorry to hear about John. We graduated high school together. He was a great friend to have because he never judged and was kind to everyone. Last time we talked he was so proud of his boys. He will be missed.
I went to high school with John. Always enjoyed his quick wit and ready laughter.
We are so sorry for your loss. We lived across from you on Elizabeth Street when the children were young. Maura and I spent time together sitting on the front steps visiting and watching John and Michael run around the neighborhood playing with other children. You were all missed when you moved away. We were not aware that Ann had passed away. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Betsy and boys - I am so saddened by your sudden loss. You are in my prayers and thoughts.
We were friends of Michael and Ann and knew the kids when they were in E'town. So sorry for your loss. Keeping your family in our prayers.

Betsy, I had the honor of working with John when he was with Insight. He was so proud of you and your boys! John was a wonderful and special person, everyone who met him is better for it. Please know you and your boys are in my prayers.
Betsy, we share your sadness and great loss, may it bring you comfort to know others care and are praying for your family.
Betsy, I'm so very very sad for your loss. I know my sadness does not compare to yours and your children. John was a very good man who was kind to many children at school. I did not know that he had that many "peeps". I will be keeping you and yours in my thoughts and prayers and hoping some peace and comfort will come your way sooner rather than later.
Betsy, I had such tremendous admiration of John as a father. I observed how he interacted with the boys and was amazed at his bond with the boys. Most of the parents I work with are moms--I work with very few dads who are as strongly involved with their children the way John was. The fact that he was willing to put his own career on hold for several years to spend full-time with the boys just blew me away. He was one man who had his priorities straight! Be assured that you and the boys will be in my prayers!

We are so saddened by your loss. It was so touching to see John playing in the pool with Luke, Spencer and William every Friday. He was such a kind, gentle, quiet man. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Slan Abhaile! We knew John's Mom and Dad from Fort Knox Thrift Shop and will sing : "The Parting Glass" as the Irish do.
The Boland Family became a part of my extended family over 10 years ago and the loss of John feels like I lost a brother. Betsy, you and the boys are in all our prayers and please always know we are here for you and plan on being a part of your life. Hang in there, we love you all.
