POP's, I will miss our OU games, but what I will miss much, much more is our talks, the life lessons you were always talking to me about. I will miss my Best Friend, my Best Man. To me POP's you were the greatest man I have ever known. I can't wait to hear all of those story's again.
You took me in as one of your own grandchildren without hesitation, and I am so grateful for that. You're the grandfather I never really had, and I only wish we had gotten to know each other better. I will miss you and your good-natured teasing that never failed to make me laugh or smile.
You will always have a place at my table.., save me a seat at yours
Wanted with all my heart for Boston to learn the game of golf from you, Jack. And to learn your love for OU football. And to hear your stories about growing up in Gloucester. And to hear you talk about his mother and uncles when they were young. Okay, I didn't really want him to learn all your colorful vocabulary at such a young age, but we could have dealt with that. So now we will all be telling Boston stories about you, Jack. About how witty and smart his grandfather was. About how much you enjoyed joking around. How you loved your wife, your kids, your grand kids, hugs, OU, golf, people, cars, sailing, and most of all, learning new things. How you kept everyone together and on task after losing your house in the tornado. How much you enjoyed your family getting together for birthdays and holidays. Despite your failing health, you have always been and continue to be the rock that keeps this Carter family centered. Jolie and I will do our best to raise Boston to have the integrity, determination, and fortitude of his grandfather. Thank you for embracing me into your family, Jack. You are greatly loved and already missed.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family! Jack was a great friend that I once worked with and we loved to analyze the horses running at the track each day! Rest in peace my friend!
God bless you uncle Jack that you are now at piece. In my heart I know you will remain by your families side watching over them like always. Always in my ??
God saw you getting tired, and the cure was not to be;
So, He put His arms around you, and whispered, "Come with me."
With tearful eyes we watched you suffer, locked away inside, and saw you fade away;
Although we couldn't bear to lose you, we could not ask you to stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, and hard working hands laid to rest.
Our hearts are breaking because as a husband, dad, friend, and grandfather, you are the best.
