To all in the Dankos family, I am so sorry to learn of your father's passing. Mr. and Mrs. Dankos were supportive of the community in so many ways, going back to hosting Key Club meetings on Route 1 and later when I had the privilege of practicing law with Mark. You all are blessed. Take care.
Condolences to the Dankos family for your loss. I only knew John from my days as a young bartender at The Dominion Club. He was a very kind, generous man, my favorite member. He always had a kind word and was remarkably funny. I never forgot his charm and wit. Rest in peace Mr. Dankos.
Jackie and Family,
We are sorry for your loss, please accept our sincere condolences.
Glenn, and family,
We are sorry for your loss. Your dad was a great contributor to the restaurant industry, and will be remembered for all that he did. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Thoughts and prayers to the Family and Friends of Mr.Dankos. Karen we are sorry for your loss.
My name is Muhammad Harisuddin. Mr Dankos knew me as Albert Harris. He gave me my first summer and after school job when I was 16yo back in 1961 at the restaurant on #1 Hwy in Glen Allen, Va. In hindsight, I learned a lot from this experience even though this wasn't the best of periods for "Black" employees. Mr Dankos along with his lovely wife Theresa, treated me well and I'm grateful. May he Rest in Peace and G-d forgive all of us our shortcomings and sins. If there is Restaurant in heaven, Mr Dankos will probably be the owner/manager.
John, Mark and family, so very sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you, Barbara Thornburg Adams
He was a very generous man of the world - a great man - now, it's the end of an Era. He will be greatly missed by all who were privileged to have known him.
Our condolences go out to your family. John was a great and faithful customer to my father and myself for many, many years.
The Elkins family
It was a pleasure to have known your father for many years. He was a wonderful, kind and generous man, who dearly loved his family and who contributed much to make the world a better place for all. He will be profoundly missed, but always fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
With Deepest Sympathy to the entire family at this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
We know how important your father was to you.
Let us know if there is any way we could help.
Fondly, Don, Judy, and Katherine Richwine
Good family memories with John,Theresa and children at the River.
John and Theresa were very generous and hospitable to all who entered their home. He will be missed. His antics with his brother Slim always kept us laughing. Kiss Theresa for us.
Words can not express the loss we feel for our friend John.
Many years of trips, fun, laugher, and sorrow. We will miss
your voice, laughter, and jokes. We will treasure all the years and remember him in our prayers. To all of the family, we love you all, and know we are here if you need us. Blessings and love
The Ted Balestreri Family
I feel as though my father has passed away - again...
Holly and Tracy - my family didn't know you well, but the "boys" will remember us (fondly, I hope.)
"Uncle" John (as he'll ALWAYS be to me) lived a good, long life. I will never forget being at my father's funeral in West Virginia, when who should walk in but your father. I understand he couldn't stand to go with us to the cemetary and left immediately after the service, but he was THERE for us!
He was the "Barney Rubble" to my father's "Fred Flintstone." We had ALL the holidays together, as our families all lived out of state.
Please know how much I loved him! My condolences to all of the family.
Please accept Woody staff condolences for your loss. You can depend on us to assist you on this journey and we will strive for your complete satisfaction while your loved one is in our care. We believe you deserve nothing less. For these difficult days, we will be honored to have you consider our home and family a part of yours.
A wonderful man has passed away and heaven has indeed opened its 'pearly gates' for yet another Angel. God said "enough, come on home and rest". He most definitely had a very full, adventurous life and touched oh so many lives. We are personally honored and feel very blessed to have had John Dankos, and his entire family, in our life and we believe his legacy lives on in his children and grandchildren. Blessings be to John as he now rests in God's arms; love, prayers and blessings to the Dankos Family.
