Dearest Marcia, Steve, Amy, Lauren and Adam,
I can't imagine there was anyone in Jon's life who wasn't a better person for that simple fact. Jon had a natural way of putting people at ease, of making them feel welcome and important. A time I'll never forget is once when we were visiting with you in Williamston. You had taken us to dinner, and the bill arrived on a plastic tray. I commented on how much I liked the tray. When we left, Jon handed the tray to me as a gift. Of course he didn't steal it. He went to management and convinced them to give him one. I still have that tray. I think the name on it is Pistachio's, but it has worn down over the years. We didn't get to spend a great deal of time together, but when we did it was always fun. Jon had the ability to deal with the trials of his life with a good deal of grace, earning the respect and admiration of many. He was a true gentleman and a perfect brother-in-law.
Marcia: I have fond memories of John and all the great work he did with troubled kids. May he rest in peace!
