What a joy to have had a skate with Karen and enjoy the spirit and support of her family. Coach Marty
Karen will be sadly missed by so many people. She was a very rare person that combined warmth, beauty, and caring in such a great way. I feel very lucky to have known her and to have shared some fun and special memories. She has had such a positive impact on all the people she touched during her time with us. My thoughts and prayers are with all her family and friends.
I just heard and I'm in shock. My heart is broken for the loss of such a charming and sweet person. I hope Karen's family accepts my deepest sympathy for your loss. Carol, no words can express my sadness. My heart goes out to you. Be strong. Celebrate her life. She was one of the good ones.
I, too am an old field hockey and high school friend of Karen. She did have an infectious smile. She would want us all to remember to cherish each and every day as if it were our last.
Connor, Tyler and Nicole my thoughts are with you and I send great big hugs. You have a great big family at WMS and WHS. I want your mom to rest knowing that we will take great care of you. My thoughts and prayers are also with the Henigan family and Paul and Mariah Henick. So sorry for your loss.
On behalf of my family, myself and my late wife Patty please accept our condolences on your loss of Karen.
Patty worked with her in the Westbrook system for many years. Although I did not know her that well very few days went by that Patty did not mention her and the great courage that she showed in her battle with the cancer in her body. I will never forget her determination to raise her family and her caring. Patty was so pleased when Karen and
friends came to visit her during her own battle. I am sure that they are reunited in heaven. Karen was one of Patty's best friends. Your family will be in my prayers. God Bless You and take. care.
Bob and family
I am classmate of Karen from Windham High School. My thoughts and prays goes out to the family. I always remember Karen with a big smile on her face and leading us at graduation. She will be deeply miss.
Karen you will be remembered for your beauty inside and out. You will never be forgotten and I hope your family will always feel your presence watching over them. Rest in piece beautiful.
Our heartfelt sympathy's go out to all of you. We only knew Karen for a short time, but she was, for us, an example of courage and a role model of "how to dance with cancer". Those of us in the Windham Cancer Support Group met with Karen about this time last year and were able to help her in her battle for just a little. She is still an inspiration. Remember Karen for her example of courage and not for the loss from her death.
Chairman, Windham Cancer Support Group

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Henigan and Henick families. I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember Karen's beautiful smile.
My sincere sympathy to Karen's 3 children and the rest of her family. As the former Superintendent of Schools in Westbrook where Karen worked for many years,I can not think of a more dedicated and caring person . She always took the time needed to assist anyone and everyone who had a problem. We shared many good laughs and resolved many issues always with what was in the best interest of the employee. Unfortunately I am out of the country and will not be able attend and express my deep condolences to her children and the rest of the family.

Those who know Karen have very heavy hearts - she was such a great friend to my daughter and others - always upbeat and happy - and funny - and loving. That smile was so uplifting to everyone who saw it. Nicole, Tyler and Connor - so many of us love your Mom and we love you too. You all have her look and that impish smile. She'll always be with you. Please remember that you can talk to Noelle at any time - or even me. It doesn't seem like it right now, but one day you'll notice that the pain will be a little less and you'll be smiling more. We love you!

For me, Karen will always be a treasured member of one of the losingest field hockey teams in Windham High history! But we all had so much fun! I will also remember her as a tremendously strong, courageous, and determined woman, who was such an inspiration in her fight against cancer. May she find rest and peace now with God. I've been keeping and will continue to keep her and her family in my prayers and in my thoughts. Wishing you all strength at this very difficult time.
With my deepest sympathies...
