Loved your laughter and enjoyed your 2 books and was waiting on a third

Bo was a natural leader who inspired trust and loyalty in his troops. He was gentle but he could be tough. He had a great sense of humor. Above all, he was a man of principle who knew there is more to life than the daily paper...an all-around good man. I am thankful he left us a legacy in his two wonderful books, plus his dear family.

Beverly and I regret Bo's passing. During the time I was mayor, he was always gracious, fair, even-handed, a thoroughly decent fine gentleman. We enjoyed some movies with him and Patty in their retirement years. We will miss him, and extend our sincere thoughts and prayers to his family circle. Bill Hudnut

Dear Patty and family,

My sincere condolences to you and the family. I spent most of my career respecting him from afar. I still have some nice notes he wrote me about my stories. In one of them, he paid me a nice compliment, basing it on the fact that his wife had read my piece all the way to the end!

Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. My father (John Connor "Jack") had the utmost respect for his cousin Bo. John (Jennifer) Connor

He was such a gentle, fun guy. I loved seeing him every single time I had the chance. Connor family, you are lucky to have
had such a man to call your own.
My mother adored him too.

Patty and family: Thank you for sharing Bo with us. He enriched our lives, as journalists and as people. Those of us on the newspaper staff had the privilege of working with the real star in the Hoosier sky.

Patty We were shocked to hear the news tonight. What a great, great guy and what an honor to call him my friend for so many, many years. He left a legacy none of us will ever forget. My love to you and the family.

I would like to extend my greatest sympathy to the Connor family on the loss of a great man. I had the opportunity to get to know Mr. Connor as i grew up with Mike during our years at Pike High School. You will be missed

First met Bo at cop shop on Alabama St. in1959. From the first moment I sensed he had something special--class. He was sort of my ideal of what a great newsman should be like. During all those years we were friends I respected him like no other because he was a true and delightful gentleman in a tough business. Charlie Miller--Indpls Times-Blue Cross

Bo was such a wise and generous man. We met in 1990 when the Press Club Foundation was established and I had the good fortune to work with him for the next 20 years. His love and passion for journalism generated many special programs like the Keating Feature Writing Competition which encourages young people to adopt his enthusiasm for journalism. Thank you, Bo, for your many gifts to journalists.

Patty and family,
Jim and I send our condolences as our friend and journalism associate has departed this life for a better one. I had already sent a picture of Jim, Bo, Myra, and David to be used in April when Jim joins Bo in the Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame. Sue Hetherington

Heartfelt sympathy to the entire family for your loss. Bo was a wonderful man -- a decent and honorable soul in a profession in which honor and decency were often sorely lacking. I worked under Bo for 12 years at The Star, and in that entire time I always found him to be scrupulously fair, endlessly patient and unfailingly supportive. In short, I loved the guy. Can't imagine a better boss ... or a nicer guy.

I worked for the other Pulliam newspaper, The News. In fact, I married into a newspaper family because my father-in-law was a retired printer (Byron Thiesing), three of his sons also worked as printers, and his daughter the late Jackie Thiesing-Felter was the Promotion Coordinator for The News. I have many fond memories for a great member of the Fourth Estate. Rest in Peace, Bo! John W. Felter, former staff member of The News

To the Connor Family,

So sorry to read of Mr. Connor's passing. My Dad and Mr. Connor were good friends from childhood. Dad truly valued their friendship through the years. Both Mrs. Connor and Mr. Connor were there for him in the good times and the tough times. When Dad's health began to declined it was Bo , as well as others, who made sure Dad got out and about. As Mr. Connor put it "your Dad has more get up and go for someone who can barely go." Dad was grateful to the Connor's for getting him out. Dad was so lucky to have such a good friend in Mr. Connor and the whole Connor family was lucky to have such a splendid husband, father and grandfather. My sincere condolences to all of you on the loss of such wonderful Man.

I was a co-worker of Bo at The Star from the early 1950s to the late 1960s and also had the honor and pleasure of being his friend. Bo was one of those people with whom you wish the friendship had been closer. He was just a "great guy," and I don't think anyone would dispute that. All my best to Patty and his family. Fred Corts

It was indeed a privilege to have worked under Larry's guidance. He has been missed from the Star for years. Now he will be missed all over. A great guy indeed! (Wish I could be there to hear all the stories.)
