Dear Warren, Wiley,Lily and Ian,
I know that it is not any easier now almost one year later. I just wanted you to know, that there are those of us who have lost and we all know that the pain is and will always be there. Softer as time goes on, not as sharp as it feels right now. The memory of Poole's life and who she was to each of you will start to grow and become larger than the pain you now feel because she was taken from all of you much too soon. Her smile, her talent, her kindess and her gifts to each of you while she was here is what she would want you to celebrate. We all remember and want you to know that you are not alone.
Just learned of the very sad news regarding your daughter's passing. Though I never met Poole, it's clear that she was a very warm, bright and creative light in this world, loved by and loving to, so many . . . her life and time on this earth must have brought great joy to you over the years. May her special spirit always be felt and honored by all who were fortunate to be touched by her.
For the ten years I lived in Connie's house next to her studio in Providence, I had the joy of seeing Poole grow from a beautiful, cherished toddler through her early school years - a loving, creative, radiant child who was very much loved.
Warren, my heart is with you, Wylie and Lily at this sad time and also with Laura and Beth.
I feel blessed to have known Poole growing up. I have always been inspired and in awe of her radiance, beauty and talent. My deepest and most sincere condolences. My heart goes out to you in this great time of loss, Warren, Wiley, Lily and Ian. Poole's spirit and graceful presence will be forever carried on through her artwork, the rivers, ocean, beaches, marshes, and all those she touched with her love.
My heart just breaks.
Dear Warren and the Barker family,
I've been thinking of you since hearing the heartbreaking news about Poole. I only met her once or twice, but have always known who she was and what a bright talent she had. She will be greatly missed. Warren, how lucky you are to have had such a daughter. I know that your wonderful family will support and help each other through this time.
Warren, Wiley, Lily and Ian,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and my heart is broken. She was a wonderful friend, daughter, sister and artist.
My condolences. The loss of a bright light in our artistic South Coast community.
You were the only girl I have ever known that could rock dreds. They said a lot about you, effortlessly beautiful and unique. You have taught me to sail and more importantly to smile. I will forever cherish the time I got to spend with you.
To Warren and family,
I did not know your lovely daughter, but my prayers are with you as you try to deal with this immense loss.
To Warren, Wiley and Family: We did not know Poole but see that she was much-loved. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.
Dear Warren, family, and Ian,
Our heartfelt sympathies are with you.
What a joy to meet Poole -or remeet her as we did on a recent South Coast studio art tour. We had last seen her years ago as a baby in her mother's studio at a time when her radiant smile was lighting up a billboard..was it for Hoods Milk? in Boston. Connie adored her and to us Poole personified her mom-complete with the spirit, talent and smile of that extraordinary woman who also left us much too early! We were thrilled to buy one of her paper mache pieces which we placed on a shelf next to Connie's work and envisioned buying another piece every year.We were denied that and she is denied the wonderful future she deserved but hopefully has found peace. Our deepest sympathy to you Warren, to Wylie, Lily and Ian!

Warren, Wiley, Lily, and Ian,
We will never forget the life and light that Poole brought to this world. She danced with delight and abandon at JJ and Ethan's wedding...and we remember that her smile never left her face. We imagine that she is continuing to shine her light on you wherever she may be. May you find peace in beautiful memories.
Deb and Rob Tongren
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

This is so tragic that the only way I can bear it is to think, to hope, to ACKNOWLEDGE, that Poole is with her dear Mommy at last. And both precious souls with God. Prayers ....

Poole - my daughter's sculpture soul mate at UMD - two shining happy faces as they shared their graduation day together with lives full of promise. My heart goes out to all of you and you will continue to be in my prayers. Such a loss for all. May she now be in the arms of her Mom.
Please accept our deepest sympathies.
Poole Barker, a beautiful woman and amazingly talented artist taken from us much too soon. Although we hadn't gotten to spend much time together in recent years, I will always cherish the great memories and fun we've had running around Westport and Rehoboth. You will never ever be forgotten, and will live on in the hearts of many! My heart and prayers go out to the Barker family; Warren, Wiley and Lily. My sadness for you can not be put into words. Love you all.
Poole was one of those wonderful people that you meet and love right away. She had a light inside her that shone out in her incredible beauty and smile. She may not be with us on earth anymore, but she is with us in our hearts. She is teaching us how to be at peace with ourselves.
I am so sorry for your loss.
Poole always would light up a room. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
My family and I are so deeply sorry for you tragic loss. Poole was an extraordinary young woman and her talent ran deep. I remember on day she was in my kitchen and was about 8 or maybe 10 years old at the time and she asked if we could bake a cake and she made the best buttercream frosting one could ever make, truly a special young lady. Take comfort in knowing that she is now with her mom and looking over all of you. I pray for you and your family. No words can express how sad I am for you. She will be missed by many. May God Bless your family
Dearest Warren, Wiley, Lily and family; Our hearts reach out to all of you and and we honor Poole who was the epitome of creativity and joyful life. May she stand by you always.
Those we love remain with us...
In the whisper of the wind,
in a soft rain, in each sunrise,
and in every single memory we hold within our hearts.
my thoughts and prayers are with you.
The weight of your pain and the suddenness of her leaving will be all that you feel. Then the memories of her life and the joy she gave everyone will help to lighten the weight. You must hold dearly all of those who share the weight of your pain. You will be able to carry it together and continue your lives, someday, as brightly as she would continue her life right by your side. Keep yourselves safe and do nothing but heal.
Warm hugs and many tear to all of you.
Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.
Poole was an exceptionally bright light. My thoughts are here.
Poole! She will always be a bright light for me. I think of her and only see goodness and laughter. She's not gone...just in a different place. She's with my Jim and Joshua. They will take good care of her.
I will not lie to you and I won't give you words of wisdom. It's going to be hard and there will be many people who will try to console you. Let them, but make sure you allow yourself some space and privacy when you need it.
My thoughts are with you!
My thoughts are with the Barker family in your time of grief.
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)
