Those we love remain with us for love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade because a loved one's gone. Those we love can never be more that a thought apart. For as long there is a memory, they'll live on in our hearts.
Barbara, May your memories comfort you at this time. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
We send our prayers and thoughts to you during this time. He was a really great Uncle to grow up with.
Two words for Mack .. "True Gentleman." It did not matter where you saw him, what the situation was, who was involved .. he was always so attentive to the task at hand, always showing such a kind spirit .. always with a smiling expression .. and professionalism. It has been my honor to have known Mack.
I pray for peace and comfort for the family today .. and .. in the days ahead.
Mack was one of a kind. He was such a good man. He will be missed so much. I was proud to call him my friend. Barbara, I'm keeping you and the family in my prayers.
I started working in the schools as a painter for the City System in 1978, while I attended UTC....I met Mack then. Several years after I finished a degree in Education and started working in the schools again, our paths crossed again. His delight in seeing the results of my education made me feel very proud.
Mack shared his enthusiasm for life and education with everyone he met. I know his presence will be greatly missed, but the laughter and memories he has left with us all will keep him alive in your hearts
Mack Newman will be remembered among the ranks of Hamilton County principals as a servant leader and partner in our mission to impact the lives of children. He and Barbara joined volunteers from their church in the yearly workday outreach to the community, and we were happy that Mack's team worked at CSLA several years in a row. He always offered help and assistance in solving problems or keeping things in proper perspective. This was typical of Mack. He lived his faith through his actions and attitude. I will forever be grateful for his example and friendship.
Mack was an outstanding man and a gentleman to all. He was always a welcoming sight when entering a school building with his jovial spirit.
I am saddened by the loss of Mack. I worked with him for a number of years and even did some political activities with him. He was always a gentleman and such fun. My sincere condolences go out to his family.
Mack was a wonderful inspiration and his giving spirit was evident in his day to day actions. He was such a positive person with a willingness to help and please others. Mack had a warm heart and he will truly be missed. Much love and sympathy to his family.
Mack Newman was so full of life, laughther and love for others. He went beyond the call of duty to help the students, teachers, and administrators of Hamilton County. He will be Greatly missed!
Remembering Mack always brings a smile to my face & the "warm fuzzies" to my soul. He was always so positive & upbeat when he would be passing through Purchasing at the central office. No matter how busy he was trying to make sure everything was set up just perfectly for the Board room, he always gave everyone a big smile & a "Hi, how are you"? He will be greatly missed.
I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing. Although I never got to meet him, I know how hard it is to lose a dad. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. May God bless you and provide strength to you during this time.
I got to know Mack through working with the East Ridge Education Committee (EREC). He was one of the warmest people and most tireless volunteers I have ever met. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Prayers and God's peace to his family.
What an awesome man ..so glad I had the privilege to work with him. He always had a smile on his face when he came into Personnel. I will always remember him as a kind and friendly man. May memories of Mack always be with you in your heart....May God bless and comfort you.
May your memories of the wonderful times you shared with your loved one comfort you and your family, today and always.
I'm sitting here trying to find the words that I want to say, but all I can do is feel. I feel heartbroken & at a loss for words. Mack was such a good man. It's hard to come to terms that he's gone to be with our Lord. I'm so sorry for your loss, he's gonna be missed so much, in so many ways. Eric & I want you to know that we love you. The kids are going to miss their Uncle Mack & we are too. Sending prayers for comfort & peace for you & the rest of the family. God bless you all. Love, Kim, Eric, Ian & Emma
To Mrs. Newman and to each of Mack's children, I want you to know that Mack left a legacy that few could ever match. As Director of School Nutrition, I soon recognized when I came to this position in 2007 that he was a man of honor and integrity....a friend to all of us. I can never recall a time when, in encountering him, he didn't have a smile on his face. Always, when asking for his help (as we often did), his answer was, "No problem, I will take care of it." And, he did.
He leaves a void that goes beyond his willingness to help others.....he was considered a friend to all of us. We each loved and respected him for his generous, kind spirit and his willingness to help in any way he could.
He will be really missed by all.
I am deeply saddened by the news of the death of Mack Newman. I will always remember him as a wonderful friend as well as a reliable, generous, "always willing to help" co-worker in the Chattanooga City School System. He will be greatly missed. Dr. Tee Carr
