Gerri & Joanne---I've never met you & didn't even know your names until I read these tributes. I was in the 1964 graduating class from Kings County School of Nursing, as was your Mom. We lived on the same "alley" in the dorm for our three years there, & spent some good times together. Looking @ the pictures that are posted, I think I would have recognized her even after 50 years--the same elfin face & beautiful smile. She was a born advocate even then, & loved children. Margie also had a mischievous sense of humor that made her such fun to be around. I probably have not seen her since graduation in 1964 & last heard of her doings in the early 70's thru our mutual friend, Kathy Harris. Your Mom has certainly left you a wonderful legacy & I am sorry for your loss.
I met Margie in 2011 when I went to visit Fran and Mary. We went to her home to visit her and Bubbles at her home, and then she came to their place with supper. We had two wonderful visits with Margie. I remember her as a very kind and giving person who's life revolved around her grandkids and around Bubbles. Her family was always talked about with such pride and love.
In 2013, I was fortunate enough to make my way back down to Baltimore, and was so pleasantly surprised with a visit from Margie and Bubbles. After receiving lots of kisses from Bubbles, I got the warmest hug from Margie. We again, had such a wonderful visit.
I am very saddened by the news of her passing, and know that she is making lots of friends where she is now. Margie seemed to have a heart of gold, and I know it will have followed her.
Deepest sympathy to Margie's two daughters, Joanne and Gerri, and Margie's grandchildren.
Rest in Peace Margie. I am honoured to have met you.
I wish I could easily express what a loss Margie's passing means to us, but it would not even come close to the encouragement and faith she gave to others. At our last lunch I had with her and Jim she was so upbeat about her prognosis and her new home and her life with her grandchildren so close by. She was an angel among humans and will be missed for her gleaming smile and positive outlook on life. She was a model NSA employee and always gave 110% every day. May your memories always be of her upbeat and lasting legacy she left for all of us and her faith in Jesus Christ and his promises..
Gerri and Joanne, You were blessed with a wonderful mother and we were blessed with a wonderful friend. We loved being with your mother and even though we didn't get to see her a lot, she was a part of our family. It just was a special bond we had with her. Bill enjoyed a happy friendship with your dad and that included your mom. We loved your mother and we will miss her dearly. Our love and sympathy to you and your families. Bill and Margie
Karen and I will never forget Margie and the major impact she had on our lives. I met Margie over ten years ago when she was a business manager for DOD. She was the best public servant I have ever seen. She knew so much and constantly amazed me at her ability to quickly size up complex financial and manpower proposals we reviewed and to evaluate the performance of contractors. While she wasn't a “techie”, she could run rings around those of us who were when it came to ensuring the government was getting what it paid for.
She quickly became my friend. She had many friends and always seemed to have the time to listen and the wisdom to know when and what to share at just the right time. She was part of our small group that spent several years together in Bible Study and prayer on a regular basis. She shared her faith, tempered as it was by challenges and sorrow that few of us had ever experienced. She shared freely her joys and she relished telling stories about her grandchildren whom she loved so very much. She was like any of us in her struggles and honest about her ups and downs. To pray with Margie and listen to her pour her heart out to God was a privilege that we will miss very much.
We all met a couple of times in this last year for lunch at our favorite place in Hanover, Mama Lucia's. The last time I saw her, she shared how she remained hopeful but was at peace with the outcome of her disease and was ready to accept whatever the Lord wanted. She was to us, as one of her best friends, Jim Blackwell said recently, a “giant” in the faith. We loved her for her kindness and warmth, and we feel the loss greatly. She will be missed so very much.
Gerri and Joanne... Your mom's beautiful smile, her contagious laughter, her love for God, your dad, each of you and your families, and her friends - is how we will remember her. May she rest in peace. We send our heartfelt sympathy to you all.
Joanne and Gerri, it is with great sadness that I write you. Your mom was a wonderful lady and your tribute to her is amazing, because she was amazing. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Claudine & Roy Dunning (Glen Burnie, MD)
A beautiful tribute for a beautiful women. She touched so many lives through Brownie meetings, church, the neighborhood and so many other ways. We are all blessed to have had our lives touched by Ms Margie. May comfort come easily to the family knowing that she is always with you and that you have another angel watching over.

Absolutely beautiful tribute! Although I did not know this wonderful lady, I have taught both of her granddaughters. Jenna and Natalie must have a part of their precious grandmother in them because they have been the sweetest, kindest most loving children I have had the privilege to work with. I know Margie is now in heaven dancing with the angels! Love and hugs to all the family!! Xo!!
We love you.
