Tina and Balestreri Family-
Just found out about Mario's passing-
to the greatest man I have ever known, the love he had portrayed to me, you, Tina and his family is beyond words. I am so sad, but so honored to have known him and you for 19 years. I was so blessed to be able to massage him for the many years I got to know him. Every time I hear a Micheal Bolton song, I think of the love he had for you and his true passion for life. He will be missed by many, but what a legacy he has left behind. God is the lucky one to have him up there. Words do not explain the hurt and pain I feel to know he is gone. Love to you and your family--

Dear Tina and family,
Craig and I were shocked to hear of your loss today. How could we not have heard? I can't even imagine the pain and loss you are feeling. Mario was such a great guy. We are so honored to have know your family. How could we ever forget Mario, Mario, Mario, Mario and Luigi builders? They made the pain of that huge remodel a joy. We couldn't wait for the crew (your family) to show up every day. We are so sorry we weren't able to be at the service. We would have liked to have been there to honor Mario.
May God comfort you with memories and His love to get you through this difficult time.

Dear Balestreri Family, The short time I got to spend with Mario I could tell he was a special man. I could tell he loved his family more then anything. We became friends fast and I wish we had more time together. I believe I am a better person for having met Mario. He is missed and I look forward to seeing him again. Stay strong. May God continue to bless your family.

Mario... You were practically an uncle to me. As a kid you always treated me as one of the family. When my dad gave me a raise, you didnt think it was enough so you increased it by 50cents. lol... I remember my childhood very vividly and you and your family were a very big part of that. For that I will always be grateful. Only recently did we catch up/ You made it a point that i would once again be included in your family. Also for that I will always be grateful. What I'll be grateful for the most is the memories I have of you and your family and that towards the end I was able to reconnect with you. You were larger than life and it would be impossible to forget you and the man you were. its time to rest now, we'll all be there soon enough to keep you company.
June 18, 2010
Although I didn't no you well . I enjoyed meeting and sharing my blanket with you at Cristina and Joey's volleyball games .<3 Kristy

I am grateful to have met him and to know all of you! You are a strong and beautiful family!

Dad...
so many pictures come to mind
whenever we think of you
It seems without you in our lives
things will never been the same.

What will happen to those lazy days
of summer we spent together;
When our lives were consumed with you
in your love, and in your smile.

What will happen to all those times
when we all looked to you;
No matter what happened in our lives
you could make the gray skies blue.

Dad, some days we hear your voice
and turn to see your face;
Yet in our turning...it seems
the sound has been erased.

Dad, who will we turn to for answers
when life does not make sense;
Who will be there to keep together
when the pieces just don't fit.

If we could turn back time
and once more hear your voice;
We'd tell you that we are thankful
for the life you created for us and
honor your name.

Please always know we love you
and no one can take your place;
Years may come and go
but your memory will never be erased.

Today, Jesus, as You are listening
from heaven to our hearts;
Would you tell our dad
and give him all of our love.

Dear Tina,
We were all so saddened to hear of your loss from Tracy and Wayne Iverson.
We all go back so far, Mario having built my first restaurant, Billy Quon's
at the Crossroads 24 years ago...then so many other after that, due to the
fantastic relationship we had all grown together in our careers. Mario will
be sorely missed by all, and our thoughts and sorrow are with you during
this difficult time.

Tina, Mario, John, Vicky, Phil.......My sister sent me this sad news. I think about you folks from time to time and this was an unwelcome suprise. From the years I spent working for him, the first thing that now comes to mind; he had more spirit and character than most men could aquire in two lifetimes. He and you, always treated me like family. For that I am thankful and so very sorry for your loss.

Tina and Family-

My thoughts are with all of you during this difficult time.
June 06, 2010
Tina and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Mario was a great person and I will always remember his smile and his love for the roar of a loud engine. Thinking back to the Junipero High School days, when his cousin Matteo and I would get a ride from Mario , in his Hot Rod, before he would pull out of the parking space, he would turn us and want 5 cents (each) for gas money. [This is in the 1960's-when gas was 27 cents a gallon]. Matteo would always ask him if he had a switch to turn the gas guage off, so it read empty, anytime he gave us a ride. We always laughed. It was fun to see Mario and Tina at the High School reunion recently and catch up on the laughs. Mario will be missed but always remembered by those of us lucky enough to know him.
God Bless,

Tina and family,
We're still numb from the call last weekend. Mario left us too soon... he still had lots of fight left in him.
If I had to pick just a few words to describe him, I would choose intentional, tough and passionate of his own. He loved all of you so much. He loved life; he worked hard so that he had the resources to give to all of you.
I know he treasured being in Discovery Bay with his family... having heard him share many stories of his time there with everyone. It is fitting that he took he last breath there.
My Dad was so fond of Mario - I think he really enjoyed Mario's tough & gritty side and how Mario got things done... "no screwin' around!" is how Dad would put it.
As we shared last Saturday, Mario leaves a noble legacy of loyalty, provision, hard work, and doing things with excellence for young Mario, John and his grandchildren. He will be sorely missed, but never forgotten!
You are in our heartfelt prayers,

Dear Tina, John, Mario and family,

The loss of anyone close to you is always difficult, but the loss of your husband, father and perhaps your closest friend leaves us with a huge sense of loss in our heart. Mario was a very special person...his sense of family, love of life and doing the right thing will always be in our memories. We knew him for only a few years, but from the very first day we met him, we knew where his heart was....and who can ever forget his smile.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

With deep sadness in our hearts....Elyse and Peter Cipolla

Tina and family, like so many others, I have known Mario for most of my life. He was a man of great integrity and so proud of his "babe" Tina and of his boys and what great young men they grew up to be. He was someone that spoke the truth and said it to your face. The buildings he built will be a lasting testament to how he attacked life, full on and always the problem solver. My prayers are with all of you, may God bless each and every one of you.

Tina & Family.
Mario was always a gentlelman and good friend. The building industry will surely miss a fine contractor as him. Most of all his family, his friends and this town will miss him. He did not even know, but he was very much admired by a lot of people, including myself. He made me so proud to be included in the long list of one of his friends. It was not long ago that we met in the walking path,by Cannery Row,we embraced and kissed each other in a Sicilian way, I felt his vigor for life and I was sure that he would win this battle as he has won other battles. God had other plans for him. His will be done. I loved him for who he was and for the way we treaded each other. He's gone but not forgotten. I wish Tina and all of Mario's family, my sincere regrets. You are in my humble prayers.
