Dear Colonel Anderson,

We are saddened to hear of Mary's death. You and Mary cultivated a dear and lasting friendship with my parents early in your U.S. Army careers. One of life's treasures is the ability to gain fondness and familiarity from afar, via the stories and connections expressed by others. Having been around you as a tiny youngster, followed by one meeting after high school, my knowledge of your family came in such a fashion. Via that link, I know that Mary, in partnership with you, enriched the lives of those who came to know her. Please add our condolences to the many that have preceded.

To the Anderson family-- a lot of my childhood and adult memories have your parents and my parents doing something together. I am so grateful to have those memories to hold dear to my heart. Xxoo.
