When I moved to Southern California to attend USC, Frank Catalano, suggested I meet Vecchio's. I was invited for Thanksgiving dinner in 1980.
We were up to 2:00 AM, chatting, telling jocks half italian half t'arbresh, laughing.
From there on I was adopted as a member of the family. For many, many years to come I was not allowed to go anywhere for the thanksgiving. In addition Frank and Mary made sure to introduce me as a member of the family in any gathering I participated.
If I ever passing near near by, it was a mandatory to stop by and say hi.
Mary, resembled my birth mother in so many ways, always thankful for everything, glass half full, big heart and infinite love.
Truly, Frank and Mary were my parents in America.
What a co-incidence, Mary lived equal time after Frank as my biological mother lived after my father passed away.
Talking with Mary after Frank passed away, she would say to me "I miss Franki", well say hi to Franki for me.
Truly miss you,
