I met Maryann at the Springfield library where I work. Maryann could light up a room with her dazzling smile. It was always such a pleasure to visit with her. The last time we visited she was telling me about the gown she was going to wear to her daughter's wedding. She was so very excited about her daughter's wedding. Thank you for posting all the lovely pics, especially of the wedding. I feel very blessed to have crossed paths with such a warm, vibrant human being. I'm so sorry to hear of her passing.
An angel will be missed. Maryann's smile, laughter and love for life was infectious. She was warm, caring and a true friend. Karen, Jake and Bill you were her life. I feel honored to have met her and will carry her memory in my heart. Love you Mar, I miss you already.
I WISH YOU ENOUGH!
RECENTLY I OVERHEARD A MOTHER AND DAUGHTER IN THEIR LAST MOMENTS TOGETHER AT THE AIRPORT. THEY HAD ANNOUNCED THE DEPARTURE.
STANDING NEAR THE SECURITY GATE, THEY HUGGED AND THE MOTHER SAID, “I LOVE YOU, AND I WISH YOU ENOUGH!”
THE DAUGHTER REPLIED, “MOM, OUR LIFE TOGETHER HAS BEEN MORE THAN ENOUGH. YOUR LOVE IS ALL I EVER NEEDED. I WISH YOU ENOUGH, TOO, MOM!”
THEY KISSED AND THE DAUGHTER LEFT. THE MOTHER WALKED OVER TO THE WINDOW WHERE I WAS SEATED. STANDING THERE I COULD SEE SHE WANTED AND NEEDED TO CRY. I TRIED NOT TO INTRUDE ON HER PRIVACY, BUT SHE WELCOMED ME IN BY ASKING, “DID YOU EVER SAY GOOD-BYE TO SOMEONE KNOWING IT WOULD BE FOREVER?”
“YES, I HAVE” I REPLIED. “FORGIVE ME FOR ASKING, BUT WHY IS THIS A FOREVER GOOD-BYE?”
“I AM OLD, AND SHE LIVES SO FAR AWAY. I HAVE CHALLENGES AHEAD AND THE REALITY IS – THE NEXT TRIP BACK WILL BE FOR MY FUNERAL,” SHE SAID.
“WHEN YOU WERE SAYING GOOD-BYE, I HEARD YOU SAY, “I WISH YOU ENOUGH.” MAY I ASK WHAT THAT MEANS?”
SHE BEGAN TO SMILE, “THAT'S A WISH THAT HAS BEEN HANDED DOWN FROM OTHER GENERATIONS. MY PARENTS USED TO SAY IT TO EVERYONE.” SHE PAUSED A MOMENT AND LOOKED UP AS IF TRYING TO REMEMBER IT IN DETAIL, AND SHE SMILED EVEN MORE. “WHEN WE SAID, “IWISH YOU ENOUGH,” WE WERE WANTING THE OTHER PERSON TO HAVE A LIFE FILLED WITH JUST ENOUGH GOOD THINGS TO SUSTAIN THEM.” THEN TURNING TOWARD ME, SHE SHARED THE FOLLOWING AS IF SHE WERE RECITING IT FROM MEMORY.
I WISH YOU ENOUGH SUN TO KEEP YOUR ATTITUDE BRIGHT NO MATTER HOW GRAY THE DAY MAY APPEAR.
I WISH YOU ENOUGH RAIN TO APPRECIATE THE SUN EVEN MORE.
I WISH YOU ENOUGH HAPPINESS TO KEEP YOUR SPIRIT ALIVE AND EVERLASTING.
I WISH YOU ENOUGH PAIN SO THAT EVEN THE SMALLEST OF JOYS IN LIFE MAY APPEAR BIGGER.
I WISH YOU ENOUGH GAIN TO SATISFY YOUR WANTING.
I WISH YOU ENOUGH LOSS TO APPRECIATE ALL THAT YOU POSSESS.
I WISH YOU ENOUGH HELLOS TO GET YOU THROUGH THE FINAL GOOD-BYE.
SHE THEN BEGAN TO CRY AND WALKED AWAY. TO ALL MY FRIENDS AND LOVED ONES, I WISH YOU ENOUGH! TAKE TIME TO LIVE!
WE LOVE YOU MARYANN! Love Patti
You will never be forgotten by me. I could not have asked for a better sister-in-law, or wife for my brother. You took just enough of the "Bad Boy" out of him to make him the man he is today. The two of you were so in love all 23 years of your marriage. You were both blessed because of that. You were his best friend, as well as his wife and I know you will always keep an eye on him to keep him going. I can never thank you enough for sharing in his life. Love Yah, Kare
Hi ,Baby Girl you are my sunshine bestfriend the LOVE OF MY LIFE .I miss You so much!! See you when get there. All My Love ,Bill
I was fortunate to know Maryann many years ago in high school. We were cheerleaders together at Platt. We spent a great deal of time together back then and I recall her wonderful personality, smile and her true friendship. We met up again on Facebook and kept in touch. She was always happy and always had that big beautiful smile. I was so saddened to learn that she had passed away. My thoughts are prayers are with Maryann and of course all of her family.
I am so saddened by the loss of our dear friend Maryann. She was always smiling and making everyone happy. Maryann & Bill have been great friends to our family, she will be missed dearly.
I will never forget the smile and the true concern then Mrs. Lawson had for all of us as our Crossing Guard at Thomas Hooker School in Meriden. My mother still has the Christmas ornaments she made for my brother and I one year, and after hearing this sad news I will do everything I can to preserve them in her memory. May peace be with her family and friends during this incredibly sad and difficult time, and please God hold a special place for your servant who did so much for others during her time here on earth.
Maryann will always be in our hearts, she was a very special friend which we will always remember. Cindy and I remember Bill & Maryann many years ago when they were dating. We went to Canada from our Vermont cottage.
Bill and family, Cindy and I are so very sorry for your loss of Maryann and you will be in our thoughts and prayers. May you all have a Blessed Life.

To the best sister ever; you will always be in my heart. We shared our lives in so many ways: in early childhood as roommates, as maids-of-honor for one another, as young mothers and in later years as travel companions. I'll always remember your spirit as the free flying, soaring eagles we saw at sea in Alaska. May fair winds and following seas guide you safely home.
My Love to You Always,
Your Baby Sister Jeanne
I will never forget you Auntie Mare. You were such a beautiful person inside and out.I love you very much. You will always be in my thoughts.... xoxoxox
Here is a candle to light your way. It shines brightly....but nothing shines as bright as your smile did. Fly high Free Bird! Love you Maryann
I hired Maryann to work in the Springfied office and she was a wonderful addition, always smiling and so sweet. Love you Maryann and God bless your soul. Jean
Karen, Jake, Bill and all of Maryann's family and friends....this shocked me this morning. I am so saddened by the loss of Maryann. She was always so happy, friendly, giving....just a wonderful woman that we all would have loved to be like. When you got a hug from Maryann you knew it was a HUG!
Karen and Jake I don't know what to say. She was your world as much as you were her world. Take comfort in all the wonderful memories you have. Karen = your Mom seeing you get married gave her a happiness we can't imagine. She told me at your wedding that "this was her most happies moment, next to your birth and Jake's birth"!
Heaven has a special angel to watch over us all. Love you Maryann and see you some day soon. Love Patti
Maryann was a beautiful, warm, happy, smily person all the time. I worked at messenger valley pharmacy with her for a while and was always there if she got stuck on something and needed help, she would call on me and I would help her. I am going to miss that connection we had. May she rest in peace now. I will miss you maryann.
Spending my youth in "Ma" and Bill's house in VT were and still are some of my fondest memories. She was a FORMIDABLE woman and just as strong an influence on my as my own mother. I am honored that she considered me family and will always remember her with joy in my heart. Blessed journeys, Ma...I am sure we will meet again!
Maryann and I worked together at DET for many years and attended many company trainings. We even got 3 CCV credits together! She was one of my favorite co-workers and a great lady! We shared countless laughs. Bill, Karen and family: I am truly sorry to hear this news.
Please shower Mom with flowers as beautiful as her!!!! I love you!!!
Maryann was a beautiful person, inside and out. She always giggled when I told her that she was more beautiful than Elizabeth Taylor (she was!) and that she was one of the most positive, upbeat women I'd ever met. All of us who knew and loved Maryann here at Grace Cottage will keep her spirit alive within us, and will try to live by the example she set.
As a distant Cousin I didn't know Maryann all that well , but what I do remember is that she was always pleasant and always had a smile at the ready Maryann always made sure to chat with me for a moment or two at any family gathering.
I'm sorry I didn't get to know her better , but will always carry fond memories of her. It truly saddens me that mankind has lost someone like Maryann when the world needs more like her.
There is another, very bright star in the night skies. I feel blessed to have known Maryann. She was a very caring, lovely person and will be missed. Love to you all.
We will always be together Mom!!! You will forever be my world, my hero....... I love you & miss you more & more each second Be at peace my beautiful Mother.....K
Maryann was a light!! Everywhere she was, you know that laughter, smiles and goodness was there also! She will be sorely missed...not just by immediate family, but by so many people whose lives she touched. My sincerest wishes for much healing and joy to her beautiful family!!
sooooo many memories from long ago. I knew I had a true friend when we reconnected after many years and it felt like we had never been apart by miles and other life events! Sometimes there is just nothing left to say....
I am really going to miss you and your repartee. Say hello to the Parenti for me.
Love Allen & Linda
Maryann was my flyby friend and neighbor. We didn't see each other in the normal course of our days. But on occasion her car would flyby me when I was out walking and she would stop for a quick chat. Or if I was picking something up at the pharmacy we would have our 'flyby' chat.
She always had a smile and the last time I saw her she had the biggest of smiles because her daughter was getting married.
She will be missed by many.
Bill & Family,

A very bright light has gone out. Maryann was always a bright star at Messenger Valley Pharmacy. I know this was her second career but she was so wonderful with people and every one loved her. She brought a smile to what ever room she entered. I will truly miss her.
I have known Maryann for over nine years. I am very sorry for your lost. I was on of her clients prior to being her student at CCV in the WEEEV program.
