Janet, I think you remember me. I can say my mom loved your parents very, very much. I send my deepest condolences from the Ohio River.
My parents and sister are now with your parents.
I can see them now.
I also remember following your dad around and playing with Keeya alot when I was young.
My heart, love, and prayers are with you and your family.

Janet, the last time Mom and I visited Mattie Lee out at Green Tree she was so excited and full of laughter....we talked non stop for over an hour. A friend called and asked if we knew Mattie was in the hospital, of course we did not, by that time she was not in the hospital and at White Oak. We went to White Oak but she was not there and the phone number I have for you is out of service. So when we were told Monday our hearts hurt more than you'll ever know. We go back a long way and the memories will never leave us. Camping, cards and ski shows......we are truly blessed because our families were so close. Know we love you.......Mom said I must sign her name as Jessie Clark, her very best friend (because that's what Mattie called her). Call us anytime, please! Jessie & Allyson Clark Mt Vernon, IL

Janet and Family: Mattie Lee was one of my favorite people in the world. Always so loving and funny. She was full of smiles and optimism. My love and prayers go out to you and your family. I'll bet they have duck soup running again and are laughing by the camp fire. So sorry for your loss.

Janet and family:

Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. I will always remember your Mom's sweet smile and loving nature as she managed a class of giggling girls in Sunday School or GA's.

Please accept our deepest sympathies. I will always remember Mattie for her sweet nature and kind ways from our days at the Second Baptist church and Sunday School in Mt. Vernon and the crazy fun weekends water skiing and camping at Crab Orchard. Mattie and Doc were good friends to my mom and dad, Vera Hays and the late Roy Hays. My mom Vera also sends her deepest sympathies and condolences to all the Filberth family.

Our sympathy to the Filberth family. Mattie was one of our favorite people at Green Tree. She looked forward to being with us each month as we joined together there to sing hymns, hear Victor's message, and share communion. We will miss her sweet spirit.
