He was my role model and in some ways the father I never had. I knew Sergeant Ogas from June, 1957,(Fort Hood) until the spring of 1958 when he and CJ left Crailsheim, Germany to go to Vilseck, Germany.
Subsequently John Buche and I visited he and CJ in Texas. Take care CJ; I'll be in touch. Dick Kochan, Washington, D.C.
He will be truely missed by all who knew and loved him. A gentle giant, that when he spoke, we listened.
In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
Max will always be remembered by everyone in Army Community Service. He served faithfully as a volunteer for many years in several programs. It was always a pleasure to work with Max. He was a no-frills guy who was very passionate about Soldiers. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the Family.
My condolences for your loss. My thoughts are with you at this time of sorrow. I wish i could have attended the funeral.
Max was a faithful volunteer with Army Community Service for many years. I had the fortunate opportunity to have him work with me in the ACS Information, Referral & Outreach Program. Max truly had a heart and passion for Soldiers. He wanted to be sure each newly arriving Soldier got off to a right start at Fort Hood. He was a wonderful mentor to both junior enlisted and senior enlisted Soldiers, and was well respected by senior Officers and civilian leaders. There was nothing too hard for Max. He was committed and dedicated to giving back to his community, and he never wanted to receive any form of recognition or reward for his contributions. He will be greatly missed by everyone in Army Community Service, and in the surrounding communities. My thoughts and prayers are with the Family during this time of sorrow.
