Really good friend of ours. My husband and I went to church with him. He was such a sweet man, always cheerful and helpful. We'll miss him so much!
Mel was the best neighbor anyone could have. He always had a warm smile and friendly "hello", plus a clever joke or quip to make me laugh. He would often ask if there was anything he could help with. I witnessed what a dedicated and loving husband he was to Pat through thick and thin. But, what meant the most to me was Mel's compassion and support in attending my own father's funeral last August. He was of the same generation as my parents and he demonstrated the morals, values and strength of character as others in "The Greatest Generation". I miss him tremendously. My prayers for his family include finding happiness and peacefulness in knowing that Mel is now in the presence of the Lord and his beloved wife, Pat.
Offering our deepest condolences during this time.
