I didn't get to see Melvin for a long time before he passed, but I remember his genuine smile and warm hospitality from years ago. He was a good man, and time has proved him a great father. I know his passing is a terrible burden for those closest to him, and I can offer only my most sincere condolences.
Mona and Loved Ones,
May this time be rich in memories of Mel, a man that has left a lasting impression in my heart. He was very special and it was an honor to know him. How awesome that God promises we will see each other again in Heaven! May God and your family's presence bring you peace during this time.
With much love and prayers,
Melvin was always smiling and you knew his joy came from his relationship with his Lord. He was God's faithful servant. He was a wonderful neighbor and friend to our family while he lived in Tennessee. My thoughts and prayers will continue for Mona and all the family. Connie Eubanks

If ever a man should have had a nickname it was Melvin, and he should have been called HAPPY!
With a smile that could light up a room, Melvin was happiest when doing for others. Name a project, and he was on it like a duck on a June bug.
Surrounded by children & grand children praying, quoting scripture & singing you home is the very finest way to depart.
You & your family were more to me than you knew Melvin. Your name will ever sparkle in my mind.
