I will deeply miss our friend, mentor and colleague - Ship. He truly was one of a kind with a huge heart and big smile. He always had a way with words - complete with great words of wisdom, passion and encouragement. My thoughts and prayers go out to Marie, Marisa and the rest of Mike's family and friends.

It was awhile before I could send this...
I thank God for Mike and Marie for so many reasons. I remember what a great guy he was to work for and with. He and Marie eventually became like family to me. Mike was instrumental in helping me not only on the job but also with my new life in Christ. He challenged and helped me during the early years of my walk with Jesus and for that I will always be grateful. He, Marie and Marisa have a very special place in my heart.
To Marie and Marisa please know that I love you both and you are in my prayers because I don't have words of comfort that can help you in this time but I know the One Who does and so I am asking Him to comfort you with His Grace and keep you in His Peace. Always know that you are LOVED.

Mikey, you left us way too soon. Larger than life in every way, you made a significant mark on my life, both personally and professionally. For that, I will be forever grateful.
Marie and Marisa, words, no matter how heartfelt and sincere, seem inadequate at such a time as this. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Mike taught me a lot about business and life, . I started working for Mike in 1987 at 18 yrs old when he started with SCI. We worked together for over a decade and we worked in different states for years later. No matter how many miles apart we were, Mike made such an impression on me and my life. Hardly a day went by when I didn't think about Mike or something he said. We call his words and statements "Shipleyisms". For example, he always said "I love this country" or "cowboy up" or "just do the deal". He was a great man who positively effected the lives of many!!! His leadership will live on in a lot of us for generations to come. Thanks Mike, miss ya!!!

Thank You for loving us! All of us have fond memories of spending precious time with you, usually at a family occasion; where you filled the room with laughter, love, and hope. Our children always knew that their Great Uncle Mike was a special man . They have prayed for you, Marie, and Marisa.
We will all miss Mike very much.
Personally Mike touched me with his unconditional love; accepting me as family right away because John loved me and Mike loved John very much.Mike was always aware of what was going on in our personal lives : because he cared about his family so very much which is evident in his strong marriage and beautiful relationship with his daughter. He alwaystook the time to ask us how things were going as well as sharing either a word of advice or a positive intention for all of us.
I will continue to celebrate your life with our family and continue to keep you in our prayers.
I cannot attend the funeral which breaks my heart- please know I would be there if I could!
Much Love!
Robin

Michael is one of the greatest individuals I've known in both our industry and life itself. A true leader, one of the greatest mentors, and a friend to every person he met. So many people would have never reached their true potential without Michael Shipley there to lead, guide, and support them. I definitely count myself as one of the people very blessed to have Michael in my life. The world is a little less great without him, but we definitely know where he will be until we meet with him again. Heaven was made for people like Mike.
