Grief can be so hard during the holidays, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one this holiday season.
I was very sorry to hear about Des Moines' loss. Mike was a good citizen and a gentleman. Roger Duncan
What a beautiful celebration of Mike's life that was held Saturday. Mike touched many lives and many stories were told about him. His friends who spoke did an excellent job, bringing laughter to the occasion more than once. And the songs that were played. Debbie - much love to you.
I was very saddened to hear of Mike's passing. I remember him as a very engaging person who did not know a stranger. He was smart, kind and a person I admired. The special quality that Mike had that will always stand out to me was his consideration of his father-in-law; our father John Hutson. Mike always had time to mow dad's yard, visit with him, and most important to dad, Mike would take him to the casino in Osceola. Dad's eyes sparkled when he talked about him and Mike going there for their “boys' night out”. I often wondered how many people would take the time to go out of their way to pick up their 80 year old father-in-law when they were going out for the evening. That was the kind of guy Mike was; and that is why he will be dearly missed by all.
With heartfelt sympathy; my thoughts and prayers are with you Debbie.
Bryan and I send our heartfelt sympathies to you Deb. Our memories of him from the EAA chapter meetings will live on and continue to make us smile.
We will remember his enthusiasm for life, his quick wit and contagious laugh. Please find peace in knowing he now lives with our Savior in heaven, where I've been told, there are airplanes as far as the eye can see! Safe Travels, Mike. Bryan and Sally Knox
Sincerest sympathies to Deb, god bless.

Mike was a classmate and friend. We grew up in a small town where everyone knew each other. He was very outgoing, had a smile for everyone along with a mischevious side. All of us Alumni will miss seeing him year after year at our Alumni gathering at the Covered Bridge Festival. God Speed Mike... we will miss you for sure..

One of the best Ercoupe pilots Ever! I will miss the time spent with you at Oshkosh, and your ways. Mostly, I will miss argueing with you about stuff. Underneath that gruff exterior was a big marshmallow that would do anything for you if you needed it done. God be with you Mike, and we'll do more flying together someday.
Glad I got to know you Mike. May you rest in peace now with no more pain. Prayers to Deb and your lovely family at this very difficult time.

The most high (Psalm 83:18) promises these things are only temporary. Romans 8:18. I send my deepest condolences
I never had the privilege to meet Mike, but I've had the pleasure to work with Janelle for almost two years. She talked a lot about Mike and your family, and it was obvious there is a lot of love amongst you. It must be unbearable for you all to lose him, and I will keep you in my thoughts with hope for peace for you.
The aviation community has a way of making friends easily, but Mike was a master. His love of life was worn like a badge for all to see, and we will miss that. He was one of the good guys.
your light will shine on in our lives and always bring smiles when we think of you and your shenanigans. You touched so many in such a short time, thank you for touching our lives in a way only you could do.

To the family and friends, please forget the "wish I had done its", and remember the wonderful experiences you sharred.
I feel so lucky to have known Mike. This was a guy who never ran out of stories and would give you the shirt off his back! His passion for aviation, humor, straight talk, and kindness was unwavering. Thanks Mike for being so unique and for letting me be one of your friends!
Mike, you are/were one of the best "Coupers". I remember you, Jack and Mark flying formations in your Coupes at the Wayne EOC convention. Coming in at tree top level from the SE and buzzing over the airfield. That was a treat for all on the ground. Thankyou! RIP Friend!!!!!
Mike, more than anyone is responsible for me making the yearly trip to Oshkosh a tradition. He set the bar for the campsite. I really miss seeing him there, and it will never be the same without him.
His spirit will always be there with us.
Time to fly with the angels now, Mikey!! Miss you!!
