Neal was always so much fun to be around. I looked forward to his visits. Even when he wasn't feeling well or hurt someplace, he always smiled and laughed. Neal would scold me for not practicing my sign language. He will always be in my thoughts when I use it or look at my book and think how I should be. I miss him already.

I will never forget Neal, he was one of the friendliest people I ever met during the interpreter training program at JCCC. He always made me feel comfortable even when I screwed up. I'll never forget when I saw him at Theatre in the Park one time and he realized I was WAY back in the back and he invited me down to the Deaf area so I can enjoy the show more. Just some of the normal things Neal would do. I'll miss you!

Olathe has truly lost one of the true treasures of our community. He was such a kind and loving man, he may not have been able to verbally speak but his smile and the twinkle in his eyes said so much more than mere words. He will be missed by all. My sincere sympathy to the family.

Dear Sandi and family,
Your Dad was one of the nicest, friendliest people I have ever known. I really loved being in his presence and seeing his warm smile and gleaming eyes. He will be missed by many, and especially me. God be with you and guide you during these next few challenging days. May you find comfort in knowing your dad and beautiful Mother are together in heaven. Mona (Bumpers) Huggins
