Colonel DuPre... Paul, I will miss our phone talks. You were an icon in the Los Angeles County Chapter, Inc. 1st Marine Diviusion Association.
Many of us who have been around awhile, rememnber and speak often of how you and your lovely wife Lela would dance so gallently at our annual Christmas Party. You could sure " Cut the Rug".
As it is said in the third verse of the Marines'Hymn, "If the Army and the Navy ever look on heavens scenes, they will find the streets are guarded by United States Marines"
Your leadership will be well received. Until we meet again.
Dale Turner, Sgt, Vietnam
Past President LA & Bodfish Chapters FMDA.
RIP Colonel DuPre! It was a pleasure knowing you and sharing memories at Veterans events. Semper fi.
Hi there Colonel: rest in peace. You were a great volunteer at the Retired Activities Office at the local Base with my husband Edward (23 yrs Air Force - do not hold that against him) and we are so thankful for your outstanding service. We attended your base funeral service but did not have a chance to talk to your son and say our many thanks for such a wonderful person who was so dedicated to our country. Many Thanks. Edward Pagliassotti and Nancy Symons
Colonel Dupre you were a terrific man, consumate gentleman, devoted family man and a very proud and dedicated Marine. I will miss your stories, laughter, love of life and of the Corps the most. Semper Fi, Colonel Dupre, you will be missed and I love you with all of my heart.
I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of this genuine American hero. I feel so privileged to have known him, if only for a brief portion of his extraordinary life.
Rest in Peace Colonel. We will meet in Heaven. Your fellow American, Brenda from the Santa Barbara Navy League.
