Pete and I were roommates briefly while going through SIU's aviation tech program. We all graduated and headed off on our career paths and sadly never really crossed paths again. But the time we spent together, working on planes and flying them, buzzing other buddies and just having a grand old time will certainly be remembered as the some of the best times of our lives. Please accept my condolences for your loss. Pete really was a very special person in so many ways.
Pete Bankson was a dear friend of mine. I am so sad in his passing as I just read about it today .. "Pete the Pilot" taught me many things about flying and life in general.
Pete worked for my father in Illinois as a corporate pilot and he learned to fly his first lear jet as pilot in command of my father's aircraft.. I remember the super cubs Pete and Ron Anderson use to rebuild.. We went flying many times on weekends playing hide and seek with them.. Omg..We had so many good times, as Pete was like our family member growing up. Always a genuine professional and a true gentleman.Pete Bankson, I will always remember you and so thankful that you were a part of my life. I will never forget you my friend!!

Great memories of high school days and more recently we enjoyed class reunions. Pete was always full of stories and we are so glad Pete made it to our 40th class reunion in 2008. Our sincere sympathy to all the family and his and our special friend, Marcy.
Marcy, Marnie and Tracy--I am sorry that I won't be able to attend Pete's visitation on Saturday. Family functions will keep me in Illinois. You are all in my prayers. Although we haven't stayed as close over the years as we should have; my memories of the great times Pete and I had in our younger years will always be treasured. Kim
Too young, too soon. My thoughts and prayers are with you, family, and close friends.
