I had more respect for this man than almost anyone I ever knew other than my Dad. Richard did what he thought was right and fair. It didn't matter what was politically correct, he just did what was right.
Richard didn't play the personality game or politics; he had the courage of his convictions, told it like it was and followed through. For that reason he wasn't always popular with his bosses, but was very popular with all the men that worked for him.
Richard had a wry sense of humor and loved to give me a hard time, all in fun.
In all the years I worked with him, I never heard anyone say a bad word against Richard.
He was a true friend, a prince and a class act. I will miss him greatly.
We have lost one of the truly GOOD GUYS.
Bon Voyage Richard!
You are one of my favorite characters I came to know here at the Department. Bless you and your loved ones. Rest in Peace my friend...
Sorry to hear about Dickie's passing. Lost touch many years ago, but we spent a lot of time together at his house & mine, at school & in Scouts. (my dad was Scout leader). I will plant a tree in his memory.
Our dear Richard, we will always miss your great, hearty laugh and that wonderful Lobster Girl party we had in Reno! Thank you for your beautiful, giving soul.

Want you to know how sad we are at the passing of "Dickie".
We will not be able to attend the services, but want you to know that we are thinking of you and praying for the spiritual guidance and strength you need at this time.
We love you.
May you find peace and comfort in the memories he left behind. Remember, you are always in my prayers...

I remember Richard when he worked with us in Fleet, I remember asking Eli how he was doing several times thru the years. But most of all I remember the humor and the laughs we all had when Richard was around. My prayers and condolences goes out to Eli and Richards family. My God give you strength as you pass thru this time of sorry.

We are sad to hear of Dick's passing and we are praying for you, Elisabeth, in this time of grieving.
Thank you, Richard, for your help and advice on my Jeep. By now you must be out hunting with old friends you haven't seen in many years. May your new life be filled with new adventures.
Farewell Richard, I'll always remember your wit and sense of humor. I wish we could have burned up more gun powder together, but life sometimes gets in the way of having fun. You and Eli are always on my mind.

Richard, now you are free to roam the West, to shoot and hunt with best.
Fair winds and following seas. RIP.
Good memories never fade, Richard always had humor in all our dealings. Our lives still go on and those we cherish are always watching over us in their new life. My prayers and condolences to Eli; you have been a friend for so many years and this is the most difficult time in your life.
