I always enjoyed talking to Judge Moon back in his office, where he always made everyone feel welcome. He would talk about hunting and ask about things in North Georgia. His demeanor was always what you would want in a judge.

Dearest Chris and Deb and Mark, our love and prayers are with you at this very sad time. Bob was such a delight at our wedding back in 2004....his fatherly advice will never be forgotten, his amazing positive spirit always with us. We loved him dearly, as we do you. We will forever keep his memory alive. We love you. Love, Shani & Kenny Palmer

Bob was a great friend and fishing buddy! I shall always remember his quick wit and sense of humor. He was a giant of a man with a huge heart for his fellow man. He will be sorely missed by his friends and by his community. Jeanette and I are praying for you and remind you that we are always here if you need us.

Mrs. Moon, I cannot express how much Bob will be missed by his friends and close acquaintances. You are not alone in your loss. Bob would come by the printing company where I worked and would leave all of us in stitches by his stories. He would tell them so convincingly you had no doubt they just had to be true. I was doubly blessed by his allowing me to help him with the graphics for his re-election campaigns. He would tout me as helping get him elected. "But, Bob," I would say, "you were the only one running!" So many times we would work together on the graphics for his commemorative poems, and those written about the Alaskan crab boats. My wife, Judy, and I would see him around Fort Oglethorpe driving his favorite antique car, but never without a cell phone to call you to come help him get home when he broke down. Yes, he will be sorely missed, Mrs. Moon. Thank you for sharing him with us.

My prayers are with the Moon family at this time of sadness. I have known Corky since our school days at East Lake Jr. High and he was always such a wonderful person. We were all so proud of his commitment at an early age to become an attorney and later a judge. We will never forget how he was always there when our family went through heartache and sadness. He was such a caring man and will always live in our hearts.

Judge Moon was very kind to my little girl- encouraging her to pursue her dreams and letting her know that nothing is impossible...Thank you...Deepest sympathies to his family

i met Judge Moon one random afternoon 4 or 5 years back. i was the assistant manager at the old red bank krystal, and he came in one afternoon for lunch. when i realized he was there, i walked out to him to ask if there was anything he needed, and that is when his true personality shined.

there i was, doing my job, and next thing i know we are having a light conversation about the different things about his job. i didnt take too much of his time, but in the short few minutes i did get to talk with him, people kept coming up to him and thanking him for the man he was when he was in the court room.

he touched many people. i never had to go before him, but i did get to see him in action back when he used to sit in for red bank. a friend had to go to court over a ticket, and i got to see first hand how he was behind the bench. very stern and rigid but at the same time, a reasonable man. he will be greatly missed.

Corky was a wonderful Judge and Friend.
He will be missed by many. Prayers to
his Family.
Saturday, January 28, 2012
As a young man I fully agree with the words said of Judge Moon's love for young people. When I met him and told him I was from Memphis he shook my hand and told me a few stories of his Memphis State days. Judge Moon was approachable and never to big, to important or to above taking time to speak to children, youth or those 20 something's of which I am currently a member. He was a great Tennesseean, Republican and man. His leadership will be missed.
Saturday, January 28, 2012
Bob was a mentor to me as I started my career at Sig Mt PD in the early 80s. Later he began his career as Sessions Court Judge and I became a deputy at H.C.S.O. I never had a question that he didnt have time for. I am honored to have had Judge Moon as my friend. Debbie our prayers are with you.
Friday, January 27, 2012
I grew up with Bobby in East Lake. We lived near his grandmother, Mrs. Moon, who spent many holidays with us after her family left. I worked for several attorneys in Chattanooga and Judges in Cleveland, TN., and got to see Judge often. He was a wonderful person and will be missed by many, including me. I am sad I had not seen him in several years due to moving to N.C. and having cancer. I will pray for your lovely family and ask God to comfort your hearts. There was no one like Judge Bob Moon, and never will be.
Friday, January 27, 2012
Our condolences go out to Debbie and all of Bob's family members. He was a wonderful friend to us. We will forever remember the good times at the farm and his generosity shown to us. We were fortunate to have also worked with him in the court system and see the goodness of his concern for mankind and his community. He will be greatly missed by us and many more who came to know him as well. God Bless

It saddens me to know that I have lost a dear friend. I grew up with Corky and always knew that he would do great things. I was so proud to call him my friend. What impressed me the most about him was that he never forgot where he came from, and never forgot the friends that he had there. I have ask him for advice several times and he never turned me away and never made me feel like I was taking advantage of his friendship or his position. He was a great person, and did so much for so many. My prayers go out to his family and you will be in my prayers daily as you go through the tough days ahead. Thanks Corky for the memories.

Many years ago, I needed a attorney and found a friend.
He will be missed by all whose lives he touched.

A GOOD name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold. I had the privilege of working for Judge Moon, and his character testified to who he really was! Not only did he have a good name, and was highly favored of God, but he was a good person as well! May God comfort his family during these difficult times!! Frankie Bates!!
Friday, January 27, 2012
Bob Moon represented my family in a case several years before he was appointed judge. During that time, he provided patient and wise counsel that was way beyond what was required to fulfill his legal obligations. I will always be eternally grateful for the help that he provided to me at that time. I pray that God will comfort Judge Moon's family at this time.
Friday, January 27, 2012

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

By Lamaretta Simmons

To the family of Bob "Corky" Moon--may you all find the strength needed to go through this homegoing of a dear man. I grew up with Corky and was just thinking about a trip our 9th grade class took to Washington, DC and up to Boston with Mrs. Sorrells. We were very priviledged to take this trip and it was a great trip. We studied like crazy before going and had rules to go by (several pages). Memories are worth so much. God bless you.

"Corky" was a life-long dear friend. In his last email to me last week, he stated how much he cherrished his "Old" friendships. Of how easy new friendships were established after you became powerful or important, but that he cherrished his old friendships so much. My letter that was published in the Chattanooga Free Press in support of Judge Moon....I had no idea I would lose him so fast. I am glad I, along with many of his friends, either called him on the phone or emailed him with their continued support during this difficult time. I am very proud to have known such a great man. My heart hurts today from losing such a wonderful friend. Debbie & the rest of the family, may God wrap His loving arms around you and give you the comfort you need in the days ahead.

It is with grave sadness I write this note. As Bob and I talked last week about the turkeys in my front yard, little did I know it was the last time we would speak. He kept me polished in the court room and a better State Trooper. I shall miss my friend so. God Bless you and hold you.
