I'm sorry for your loss I remember Bob from the time a was a little boy. He was a good man.

Everyone who ever met or knew Bob is incredibly blessed. I'll never meet a man I'll admire more.
He was full of compassion, selfless, generous, humble & totally devoted to helping others. His face & voice gleamed with Godly radiance as he spoke about his mission trips. He always had pictures in his shirt pocket with smiling children and families whom he just helped, when I'd bump into him. He had either just returned, or was preparing to leave to help someone somewhere. He built medical facilities & brought medical equipment, built churches & kitchens & brought toys, & bikes, etc. He rolled up his sleeves & made things happen-big things, important things, essential things. He literally brought tons of help to 1,000s of people in need. In railroad cars, vans, trucks-anything with wheels. But the most important thing he ever brought was himself. Because when in Bob's presence, you could literally feel love & joy radiating from his spirit. He greeted everyone with a twinkle in his eye, a big smile, a bear hug or robust handshake & his wonderful warm resonant voice. He was a treasure! Bob loved everyone he ever met. He was a Godly man, a shining example, and a precious & dear friend.

Dear Eleanor,

To us, Bob's life envisions what it is to follow Jesus. His loving attitude expressed to us has been a blessing and encouragement: to be generous as he always was to those less fortunate. Sharing Jesus' love radiated from his dear personality.
Because of Jesus' love, we share with you the reunion we will be privileged to share!

Bob Bauer was the Cub Scout cubmaster at Jefferson elementary school in Mason City in the late 1960s, when I was a cub scout. His compassion, dedication to the kids, understanding of how to impart knowledge, and his wonderful ability to relate to all of us was very much appreciated, by both the scouts and parents. My brother was in Becky's class at Jefferson, and I remember my parents going over to see the Bauers after Darrell passed away. Rest in Peace, sir; a good man has gone on to a better place, well deserved, and well-earned. TODD BLODGETT Clear Lake, IA

Our prayers and sympathy are with the family at this time of loss.
Friendship with Bob and Eleanor began in Mason City, Iowa with my parents, Harry and Alice Moeller, I was Ellen Moeller at that time. We continued the friendship at Grace Church.
Bob's compassion and interest in and for others was one of his heart beats. His Christ-centered convictions were always at the fore front.
He always came early to church and had many interesting stories and truths to share with whomever would listen.
I wish I could have had more time to listen to his travels and stories of his wisdom.
I am sure God has said, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."
He will be missed by many and leaves quit a legacy.

Friendship and communication with Robert, my first cousin spanned eighty years. I've always admired him for his Christ-centered convictions, his forthrightness, his compassion for others and the sacrifices which he made for those in need. I will always miss our "heart to heart" chats. Phyllis Kellogg Duke
