Two of the most beautiful people I have known. Uncle Ron & Aunt Dot always had a smile on their faces as they greeted you. I remember Ron as one who loved to sit and discuss any subject from religion to how to raise chickens. He will be missed by all who knew him.
My earliest memories of Ron were the trolly rides at Florida Lake with my brothers and sisters. Our family would spend those hot July and August afternoons at the "pond". As we got older my brothers moved out to swim out back in the lake and we girls and my cousin Billy would stay in the pond, I think mostly so that we would be sure to catch the trolly if it was running.
Later Billy and I would have season passes to Florida Lake, spending a few hours almost every day there. Ron and Dot were always happy and inviting.
It is such a loss to those around him, but he truly lived a great life as a wonderful man.
My Uncle Ronny was kind to me, and always made me laugh. Now he belongs to the ages.
The nicest man i ever met. I have such great childhood memories of him at Florida Lake! He created a wonderful, fun place for kids, and you could tell he loved it all. I can picture him running the train, walking through the snack bar...always smiling. I am truly sorry that he is gone
My Most wonderful memories were of Florida Lake with Uncle Ron and Aunt Dot.They made my summers their the happiest. I remember my last day of school for summer vacations and riding by the lake with a smile on my face because I knew I would be there the very next day enjoying my summer there with my family and friends. Aunt Dot would be at the snack bar, and Uncle Ron would be giving the kids a ride on his trolly. And HE LOVED THAT TROLLY! I remember his pigeons and his plants he grew. I remember a drink they use to talk about on there trips back from Florida. If my memories right it was called something like papaya juice. The last time I saw Dot and Ronny I was working at the Walmart in Falmouth. I am so glad I got to give him a teddy bear hug.. I will miss you Uncle Ronny, thank you for giving my childhood such wonderful beautiful memories.
Ronnie was such a special part of our lives as I was growing up. I am so glad I was able to reconnect with him and Dot over the last couple of years. He was such a good and kind man and strong in his faith. He is safe now in the Father's presence.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I have so many memories of Ron and Dot in Florida with the Stubbs family. Ron taught my sister and I all about finger bananas and how to dig his swimming pool. I don't think there was anything he couldn't do. We will miss you!
Ronnie was a great man and will be missed by all. I have a lot of wonderful memories playing softball with him and his family as child. My family also enjoyed many hours of fun and enjoyment at Florida Lake over over the years. Rest in peace Ronnie. My thought and prayers are with you all.
Cousin Ron has always been part of my life. My mother, also from Freeport, took us to Maine several times in my younger life. In my adult life, I visited Ron and Dot during the summers of 2000-2009. I was always eager to gaze upon Ron's beautiful gardens and Dot's wonderful quilts and "home remodeling" ventures. I have never seen two people complement each other like Ron & Dot!
Something very special that was always shared on our trips from Texas were the wonderful "bean suppahs" with them. Of course, along the way our tour guide (Ron) would show us the many beautiful backroads and tell us where all the other relatives lived! We never had so much fun as we had with the Cummings!
You were a wonderful Christian man, Ron, and you will always be remembered. What a role model for your children and grandchildren! Somehow, I can only hope that Dot will find some solace and peace from knowing what a wonderful husband she had for 70 years.
So sorry for your loss. I know it will be difficult to think of life without him being around. He raised his children to be beautiful inside and out and they in turn have done the same in their families.
"May God wrap His arms of Love and Peace around your family at this time" Our condolences, thoughts and prayers for all. Love You Floyd & Cheryl Holliday (Washington, W.V.)
